But I know African-Americans who are also GL people too. Why aren't they shouting from the roof tops? I don't hold a strong position on this subject one way or another, because for myself, traditional meaning of marriage is a church and state sanctioning of the union between a man and a woman, everything else is a civil union (which should carry all the rights and responsibilities of two adults in society for legal/tax purposes. Having said that, I would support gay marriage if it came accross my precinct. Now, I'd like for you and anyone confused about this, to divorce the subject of gay marriage from the sufferage and history of being dark skinned/african descent, because the two issues were never, are not now, and will never be the same. I'll accept that all social ills are society's problems, but to specifically mention blacks not showing up in droves protesting is slightly misguided thinking to put it mildly. M
