Been a long time since we had a cigarette smoker for a Presidential or VP nominee.  I cannot recall one since FDR with his famous cigarette holder.

It's not official WH policy.  In fact it only went non-smoking in 1993 because Hillary didn't want people smoking in her house (and I can't blame her). 

Dunno if that was continued under Bush.  Laura is widely believed to be a closet smoker.

This proves that cigarettes can keep certain people youthful, slim  and gorgeous. Certainly, it works in Obama's case :-) .

To the OP,  so what?  If thats the worst complaint about him in the next four years. we can all be happy. If you don't like him, encourage the habit.  At least he isn't one of those BDSM freaks.

The President is not above the law. Where laws prohibit smoking they apply to him equally.

well i wouldnt' classify obama as gorgeous, but that's a personal preference.  i really don't think his nicotine habit is something to worry about...if he were a convicted pedophile i'd be worried, cigs aren't really that big a deal if you ask me.

Above the law. Never said that. I just mean maybe this president will have a smoke after a BJ. Seriously, I think he is better than that. But than again, who knows. He is a the new guy and why rag on him. People so fast to judge.

I seem to recall Lincoln also wanted to know what Grant preferred, so he could send it to his other generals.
