Let's see, we started off with 50 Cent.
Then we had Maya Angelou.
Then Samuel L. Jackson.
Then Morgan Freeman (that was your suggestion).
Then Cornel West (with his name mispelled).
Then Lloyd Banks.
Then Shemar Moore.
Then Mr. T.
Then Aretha Franklin.

And that was just the first page.  What do they all have in common?  They're black names mentioned by white people.

President Elect Obama, himself said "There isn't red states & blue state. There is the United States". So why are we picking people by race for this? Most of his cabinet is going to be from Chicago anyway. So even if this is some weird attempt to be funny, it's not. We didn't elect McCain/Palin, because in my opinion Palin is not qualified. So 50 cent would not get picked for what reason again?

No, not really. Unfortunately, Most blacks that other races can identify are going to be more high profile, athletes, entertainers, people we see on the tv everyday. Can anyone not of color on this thread name just one black congressperson (other than your state or Obama)? Yes, it points out an underlying problem in our country, but that too is changing.

I'm not offended by the thread in the least. Although I've called out the individual who started it as racist on more than one occasion, I truly believe everyone else is responding in a light-hearted and unoffensive way. If not, I would have been all over it.

And the point of this post, as i see it, is to choose people based on something other than actual qualifications.

This is an attempt at comedy, satire if you will.
