I didn't say it was offensive. I said it was weird. I don't recall anyone calling for a laundry list of WASP actors and singers when George W. Bush was elected. And it's starting to get a little annoying that people forget Obama is as much white as he is black. That's weird too. In this country, "white" = "two white parents," and "black" = "at least one black parent."

Meanwhile his only appointment so far has been Rahm Emanuel, who is neither black nor an entertainer.

Basically, the law on the books used to say, one drop of blood meant you were black. He is NOT as much white as he is black. I'm sure some will disagree. But I'm sure, as he grew up, he was treated like any other black man, whether he has white in him or not.

As my mother says, if he screws up he's black. If he does a great job, he's biracial. (She first said this about Tiger Woods, lol.)

Your mom and the book knowledge is on point and genetically, he is as much european as he is African, but the eyes see the dominant gene. No one forgot, but if we didn't know a thing about him and saw him on the news committing a crime, we wouldn't give a second thought to his mother. I just hope he backs up what he said, brings others up with him to his cabinet and lives out his term.

I just wish I could decide on my least favourite colour to paint it with. Puce......what colour is puce? It really sounds disgusting. Rather like the perceived intent of the OP.

Popeye, since the beginning of this election process, I've come to be quite repulsed by the person I now percieve you to be.

With respect, Lordandmaster, I do apologize for misspelling Cornell West's name, but I stand by my nomination. By no means do I think he's in the "entertainment" field--quite the contrary. His ability to see hope "in these times" and his dedication to empowering individuals (religious or not) would go a long way if he had a cabinet position.
