I think you jump to a lot of unfounded conclusions about your fellow posters, ShaktiSama, but you are, of course, welcome to share your opinion, as are we all.

Really?  Because it seems to me that you were the one who had to make a point of insulting people personally in this thread, based on some stereotype you hold about what they must be like and what their partners must be like.  In fact, you were so determined to insult people personally that you had to sally forth three different times to be a cow.

There's a difference between stating an opinion and taking out your issues on other people.  Not everyone who likes something that you don't is your inferior.

I'm sorry to say, ShaktiSama, but you're completely out of line.  I didn't particularly appreciate the way the OP responded to me, and wanted to make that clear.  I said absolutely nothing about people being inferior, just that I find the whole "worship me" thing stupid.  I still do, but if it works for you, go ahead and indulge.  If you wish to take the posted comments in such a negative manner, please be my guest.  This isn't the first of your posts to be inflammatory and I'm sure it won't be the last.  On that note, I'm out of here.  Having a discussion is one thing.  Wasting time on the clueless is quite another.

I always thought the term "I want to worship you" was an euphemism for "I want to lick body your parts that are called private for a reason and call it worship to make it sound more BDSM"

Uh oh, we have been busted guys. [8D]

From my point of view, the person who's out of line here was you.  There was nothing wrong with the way the OP responded to you, other than the fact that she failed to live up to your stereotype of the bombastic self-important idiot who cares entirely too much what you think.  On the contrary, she probably made it a little too clear that she didn't give a damn how absurd you thought her kink was, that your "approval" was absolutely unneeded and that your opinion--no matter how rudely and condescendingly it was stated--was just that, an opinion, which you were entitled to.

The fact that she took neither herself NOR you too seriously obviously got your panties in a twist.  You wanted to troll and she wasn't a satisfying target.  So you decided you had been a little too subtle in your nastiness--you needed to make it REAL REAL clear you were insulting her personally because clearly her preferred play makes her not-as-smart as you.

Mission accomplished.  We all really really know what you think now.  Happy?

*shrug*  The person who started the flames here was you.  You were being a needlessly catty bitch.  And if you're going to be a needlessly catty bitch every time that Peon responds to another poster, things will get real tiresome around here real fast--he's quite the chatty boy.

subexploring -> RE: Mental focus and worship (11/9/2008 8:46:14 PM)

I believe in "worship" -- you can get some profound experiences by focusing deeply on your domme with the right spirit of adoration, whatever you want to call it. Of course they remain a flawed human being with whom you can laugh and joke with later on. But at that moment they are the vehicle through which you're (hopefully both) experiencing something profound. Using the experience of beauty or desire to let go of self can take you some great places, and I'm grateful to dommes who make the effort to facilitate that.

I'm also with the OP in having a slight cult fetish...whenever I read about cult brainwashing, it seems like some nasty / immoral / unconsensual but potentially hot D/s stuff is going on. Of course, in reality it's probably mostly just working 20 hours a day making $$ for the cult leader and being too sleep-deprived to complain about it.

But see, if she makes you grovel before her and kiss her ass every morning—and proactively expects it—I still think it's lovely, engaging and highly addictive..to both (or more) involved. Creating a cult-like following is hot, indeed. Erasing the original boy and reshaping him into what you desire through HIS love and adoration is just...mentally delicious.

Not really, Ms DM.  If it were all about snapping at anyone I talk to, then Venatrix would have done the same with Lady H and Ms Starlett.  In fact, what happens is that they all get more friendly with each other, if anything, in the process of joining up in order to make me squirm.  Which they do quite successfully, I may say.

To me, the general subject of what you're talking about is quite exciting - as you know.  Yet, at the same time, it can tend turn into unreality.  Erasing the original boy and reshaping him into what you desire through HIS love and adoration is just...mentally delicious. - were it to be possible, which I find hard to believe, would be outright dangerous, in my opinion.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Mental focus and worship (11/10/2008 1:43:24 PM)

Brainwashing is an interesting idea, but I would rather have the devotion of someone who offered it sincerely, and of his own volition.

Well, live dangerously, then.

and never forget that just because one may assume much and imagine little doesn't mean that is reality for all.

Wow, I feel really sorry you two have had such bad experiences, Venatrix and Lady Hibiscus. That's not how it is for Mistress and I at all.

Now, I won't go into an extended dissertation on psychology or the importance of the sacred in life or humanity's seemingly biological need for spiritualism or religion of some kind. Suffice to say, there is a difference between the sort of deeply personal experience that Shakti is describing and the weekend warrior objectification that you're putting forth. I don't think she's actually a near omnipotent being, she's very much human, but something special does happen between us during those times.

And as for not being able to crack jokes about deities, sexual or otherwise...Yeeeah, if that was true, I'd have a lot of grief from multiple pantheons, let alone Mistress. Fortunately only she's real enough to exact divine vengeance, and she seems to get a kick out of my funnies. ;)

Thank you, aidan.

I may have some aspects of a goddess type myself.   I have enjoyed the treatment on ocasion and loved it; but I really cannot get into the mantra/hypnosis thing because.  I've never felt susceptible and indeed wonder if I could even keep a straight face in directing someone to do something like repeating a mantra to train himself to be in the right mindset.
I've enjoyed reading your thoughts on this though,   M

It was specifically the word "erasing" that rang alarm bells, Ms DM.  Erasing someone's mind doesn't sound too healthy to me.  Still, having checked your first post again, I see that you're still toying with all this.  Presumably you're not going to go down the line of KGB techniques?  If so, you might have the FBI on your back!

Hahaha, no, I don't think brainwashing is very realistic, but it's fun to mold and shape and change...and make it stick. In some ways that is brainwashing, but not Brainwashing.

PeonForHer -> RE: Mental focus and worship (11/11/2008 12:52:33 AM)

Well, here's a thing.  Not quite relevant, but interesting all the same.

A friend of mine is a hypnotist.  He specialises in 'curing' overeating habits.  He's quite successful at it, by all accounts.  Recently, I noticed a "hypnosis domme" appearing in the list of profiles.  She said she was looking for subs who were willing to reach some deeper level of submission by means of hypnosis.

I started wondering: if there's a D/s interaction between hypnotist and subject respectively, how much more successful would be that kind of treatment?
