A few words?
Sure.
"Hey college boy, don't steal all the toiletries off of Air Force One like the Clinton's did."

I'm not saying anything.  I'm waiting for all the failures that are sure to come.  It's happened before.  All the libs were holding their mouths open for Jimmy's cock.  It's going to be funny to see it again.

Well hey, what can you do?

It's a hard act to follow when you have two outstanding Republican Presidents like Nixon and Ford.

One thing can be said for Jimmy, however.  As far as Presidents go... he was fair, honest, and seems to be at peace with himself. i wonder how GWB will sleep at night a few years from now...

The simple minded usually have no trouble sleeping dear Lady. They say that ignorance is bliss,if this is true Bush must be the most blissful bastard around.

I'm with the lovely Lady LaTige....good bye!!!!

I'm not exactly weeping with sorrow over his departure myself.  It is more like tears of joy.  Thankfully, those tears of joy do not keep me from seeing the positive things.  As few and far between as they are, its a real shame to miss them.

I have had a few people tell me what happened to this country is because of a Democratic congreess and Senate. Is this true?

I really don't follow politics..

The bitterness you display is on a par with what I've come to expect from the far left and far right.

You're damn right I'm bitter.

And it has nothing to do with my political leanings.

This man is a fool who has single-handedly brought this country to ruin in every conceivable area from the economy to the national debt to the degradation of the Constitution to the loss of respect from the rest of the world.

I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and listen to revisionist history being formulated before my eyes and even before the fool is finally out of office.

And yet you still speak English and not Arabic. Government has only two Constitutionally mandated jobs, Protect the homeland and Regulate interstate commerce. The fact that you don't have a gun to your head and are still allowed to speak English means he did something right.

blacksword404 -> RE: A few kind words for President Bush (11/8/2008 2:35:08 AM)

It is true the congress has much hand in this whole thing. Democrats and Republicans both caused this mess. They each point the finger at each other but it's both of them. Since you say you been out of politics ill give you a funny topic a lot of people missed. Hopefully it will never be used.

So many people suffering
And so many others died
So many dreams came to naught
While those in power lied
For sure I can be forgiving
For sure I can say farewell
But will others be as forgiving?
Only time will tell.

tazzygirl -> RE: A few kind words for President Bush (11/8/2008 5:26:50 AM)

Despite everything, GWB had a hard administration.  I dont think any other President has had to face as many complications in his office as Bush did. 9/11, Katrina, Ike, gas hikes, wall street... the list was endless.  i didnt always agree with what he did, i didnt always understand, and sometimes i complained just as bitterly as the rest.

But, at the end of the day, he was, and still is, the US President.  And will continue to have my support for just that fact if no other.  I certainly would not have wanted his job over the last 8 years  Hindsight is 20/20.  We can all sit in the comforts of our homes and say... he should have done this and that, he shouldnt have done that or the other.  Its easy to say... when you see the results.

He is indeed foolish, but it was not singlehanded. That is revisionist talk, that you say you are against.

Not entirely true.  However, the House of Representatives and the Senate collectively are far more culpable regarding the presumptive ills of this country than President Bush.

Every law and resolution folks around here bitch about, Congress passed before Bush signed it.  Every law and resolution (including the ones that sent troops into Iraq and kept them there).

Well, honestly, he made the mess that will become his legacy.

Katrina  Ike were opportunities, to really show what he could do. 3 days? it took him to even visit NOLA. Which all would have been handled better had he appointed someone capable to run FEMA, not a buddy who had NO previous qualifying experience.. No one blames him for the the storm  or the levy breaking, but the response was horrifying to say the least.

Our economical crisis didn't need 20/20. Reganomics didn't work with Reagan or with Bush sr. Gas hikes, Markets crashing, and the mortage crisis are all the result of laxed corporate regulations and soft money.

He alone is not responsible, he had help from an ineffective, and useless congress. But the buck stops with the top man. If my team doesn't complete the project on time that reflects on my poor leadership and management qualities, ESPECIALLY if i picked the team members.

You're wrong on every point.

The President's duty is spelled out very clearly by the oath of office.
quote:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Bush failed to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
