Part of the reason for his low approval ratings is that Bush was constantly slimed for every move that he made. Slimed for reading to children. Slimed for giving us tax cuts.

You mentioned Iraq (which Clinton made the overthrow of Hussein a priority). Bush followed through on Clinton's plans and Liberated millions and millions of Iraqis with Congress' approval, and the Left labeled President Bush a war criminal for that.

So now you think that the Right should lick Obama's feet, and praise his every move?

No, I don't see that happening.

Iraq was launched with bad intelligence (Germany told us just how worthless Curveball was) and an astonishlingly ill-planned occupation (see Imperial Life in the Emerald City).

IIRC, Clinton's plan held short of invasion.

Restraining yourself from rampant speculation is hardly licking his feet.  BTW, do you assume the worst about a date?

It funny because I don't remember Bush getting criticism early on; what I do remember is he and his Administration spending a lot of time blaming Clinton right off the bat.
