Allways faithful,my question to you is this ,our newly elected President due and does he in fact have your fidelity.

I am willing to bet, if I can put words in his mouth, that the man does not have it, but the office always does. There were a lot of members of the military that would not salute Clinton, but would salute the office. I figure we are going to see a repeat of that with Obama.

No President has my "fidelity", as I am no longer in uniform, and my obligation in that regard has been fully and faithfully discharged.

My concern now is whether I have the President's fidelity--a concern magnified by the recent election.

WTF CL ,this is disgusting and not worthy of a former Marine.

How so?

It is a reality that applies equally to all.  Choose your enemies carelessly and the end result will not be good.

Regardless of a man's station, he stands alone in the selection of his enemies.

Not if the mans station is President of The United States os America...his enemies when assasination is being discussed are by definition my enemies
BTW Semper Fi...I asked you in my last post just what the fuck that means.Obviously I am aware of its definition, but at this point I wonder are you.Semper Fidelis...latin,translation Allways faithful,my question to you is this ,our newly elected President due and does he in fact have your fidelity.

I don't believe any President deserves the fidelity of the citizenry until he earns it.Certainly Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the democrat rat pack showed little "fidelity" to Bush while men were on the field of battle.    If I were in the military I would, of course, bow to the chain of command and the civilian leadership at the top of that chain...If I was unhappy with the Commander and Chief I would resign.  I'm willing to give the man I did not vote for the benefit of a honeymoon period to see more of his agenda.  I truly pray that my concerns, and those of almost half the population of voters, are wrong about his socialistic politics and the dangers to our democracy from radical neo-liberalism.  The country is bigger than any one of us and more important than us or the President.

He's in a weird position.  He has less $ to play with than any other Presidenty - Bush has alreadu spent all the money Obama would want to use.  But he has a lower bar to pass than any other, following Bush.

I hope that he can stabilize the economy without driving us deeper into debt, but momentum is against him.  A bailout mentality is at hand, that the government can and should prop up failure and greed.

I also hope he can extricate us from Iraq and Afghanistan somehow without damaging our position in the Middle East.

They are still people and as such their respect has to be earned. Clinton could not do so and, in fact, earned their disrespect by his actions. I am expecting Obama will surpass Clinton in this regard. With some he already has.

guess my question was not important.

There was nothing in any major media but there were numerous stories on blogs claiming the KKK endorsed Obama in the primary because they apparently hated Hilary more than they hated the idea of electing a black man.

A lot of these claims were on white supremist sites, which I guess tends to authenticate it.

There was also speculation that the endorsement was made in the hopes that he would be assassinated and start the race war they have long promoted.

As far as I know, they didn't take a position in the general election.

A question for those so blithely discussing assassination....just how old are you people? Old enough to remember the 60's perhaps or just young enough to not to.Do any of you sage's have any idea the national convulsions this country will go through as a result of any assassination, far less an assassination of the President. One of my earliest memories is of Dallas, not actually old enough to understand what was going on,though I knew something was terribly wrong.Than we had Memphis and Dr.King, followed shortly thereafter by The Ambassador Hotel and Bobbie.....I hope no other generation has to go through such pain, for having lived thru it one tends not to so lightly banter about the possibilities of it coming to pass.
So if I perhaps overreacted and jumped all over people's post's I am sorry ,but this is not something that should be discussed in such a cavelier way,it is truly a national tragedy when the ballot box is superceded by the bullet....not something I ever want to see my country go thru again.

I have a good friend that firmly believes that President Elect Obama will not make it to election and most defiantly will not serve out his term. She believes that there are too many Racists, Skin Heads, Nazis, Klan and Aryan Brothers out there that will eventually shoot him. Consider that Obama was the earliest presidential candidate ever to receive Secret Service protection.

I personally hope for the following things:
  1. that he will get the economy back on track
  2. that he will repair our foreign relations, not only with our friends but our enemies
  3. That he will nail Osama Bin Ladin to a tree like they did in the Conan the Barbarian movie
  4. That he will be the first president to be honest with the American people about contact with ET

I doubt that, Obama is a smart guy and has "assasination insurance" JOE BIDEN! "Dun, Dun, Dun!"

Well Mike, if that was my post to michael you were responding to, I'm not addressing it cavalierly just factually.

He asked and I answered.

No one is trying to promote the possibility but it isn't in any way helpful to try to pretend the possibility isn't there and to a higher degree because of his race.

Rule it was not you I was responding to,rather some others that had posted in an almost gleeful manner concerning that possibility.

We will have at least one domestic terrorist act within six months of his swearing in. Nations that normally endorse and engage in terrorism will become more bold. Israel will be threatened as well and feel the need to respond with greater shows of force.

The economy will continue to weaken. Unemployment will reach an all time high. Every "stimulus" package will cause more economic damage. He will break his campaign promise on lower taxes within two years.

He will not be elected for a second term, assuming he survives his first. The political landscape will take a turn, reversing views once again.

Whether we have a terrorist act within 6 months will  happen no matter who was elected president.  However, I sense in Obama a strength to conduct a scorched earth response to evil doers and the first nation bellying up to the bar to commit a terrorist agenda may end up being reduced to the stone age.  Wanting to get out of a situation in which our military is being ground up being a police force is not necessarily a trait of a pacifist.

Obama will probably achieve nothing for several reasons. The problems are too great and a President's time in office too short. Half the President's time is taken up running for office for a second term and being a lame duck President in the second term.

michael, went to a couple of their sites and couldn't find any Obama hate messages but there is a site of a guy that was mentioned earlier I can't remember. He was in actuality a big supporter of John Paul...
If i can come up with it I might be able to answer your question. I would doubt that they would say too much so that they can avoid a charge of terroristic threat but where the members can post, I would bet there are few unkind threats made.
They are all such splinter groups and have such a dislike for one another that as a monement they aren't very effective.
