or you could bait his ass and have some fun... but that is the sadist in me talking.

Always take the high road. You'll feel better about yourself in the long run.

I would not feel comfortable continuing to talk to or see a man who did this. But I would simply state that I know he was contacting me with both profiles, and as a result of his dishonesty and distrust I did not want to see him again.

I would also suggest he not start another relationship until after he had dealt with his massive insecurities as they are bound to ruin all future relationships.

This was very well put Steel. Some sense in the midst of confusion.

I could/would have so much fun with him, before putting him on final ignore.

I am with KoM, I would bait him. Tell the female version a blatant lie about him and see if he says anything. Or, tell him you might be having feelings for the female . Or better yet, suggest meeting her and see how she backpedals.

At least then you will have a really solid reason for telling him things are over, rather than the possibility of him thinking you are speculating.

Either way, after something like this I dont see how you can recover trust.

scottishdove,

Every email that you receive has what is known as a long header. Most email clients like Outlook Express, Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird to name a few do not show this. You need to find it in the settings of you email client and turn it on.

I use a Mac so in Apple Mail it's under View/Message/Long Header. Once you have it turned on you will see a Received: Line. You may actually see more than one depending on how the message was sent, but in the last one you should have a Received: that tells you were the message was sent from. Here is one from a recent spammer just for an example:

Received: from felxseg68.static.gvt.net.br (189.26.242.68)....

Then you can look up either the Domain name or IP number using the respective bodies who manage them.

One Caveat, while this may seem cool and exciting, it's by no means perfect. If someone really wants to mask where they came from or forge where they came from, they can. So use with care.

Sincerely,

Aramis

The easiest and quickest way to do email trace is to use readnotify. You sign up for free, first 25 mails are free, then you can decide to subscribe if you wish.
Basically when you sign up , you type readnotify.com at the end of the recipients address, eg. blabla@ bla blacomreadnotify.com it will then send you a mail telling you when your mail was opened, how many times it was opened, what pc opened it, the location, and the ip number, great service.

I guess that depends on how much you enjoy being lied to?

Answer to Kyraofmists
He told me to open an account on cm and to talk to other females, just so happened that the first female was him, I didn't know at first, in cm all seemed fine, was only when we moved to private email, that her/his questions about my Dom seemed to personal, and little things like the way he spoke and his sayings, in the end I tracked the mails, and bingo, same ip number and same location, and same computer is sending the mails.

He's insecure and dishonest.

Find someone sane and strong.  He's not worth your time.

I guarantee that wont work on my system! I don't even know if the rest would work either, maybe in a Microsoft world were outbound traffic from one's computer is prevalent. I checked out their web site and they say a Mac user can send, but it doesn't say if their services work if the recipient is a MAC or LINUX user. People can't even get normal read receipts from me LOL.

I am also not sure of the legality of this. I mean its one thing to REQUEST a read receipt, it's another thing to obtain it without the user knowing it and clearly a violation of one's privacy is occurring EVERY TIME an email is reread it is tracked?

As a technologist, I wouldn't recommend anything that violates a persons privacy. If there are trust issues, then deal with them in the light of day. Leave the cloak and dagger stuff to the cops. There are many non evasive tactics that can be used without this.

Just my .02.

Thank you MrAramis, I totally agree, but in order to be 100% sure of my facts b4 i go jumping in and making a fool of myself, i had to check, and vheck again, in a normal world were people don't lie, I wouldn't have to resort to this kind of spying, and now that I have my proof, I can dump the shit with any doubts in my mind.

He is a liar I would confront him and then dump him. This happened to me and I figured out the reason why. He was acting like a "girl friend" to get informatin from me about how I felt about him. It sasn't to hard to figure out but he lied to me and the is my hard limit.

Now I am stuck, what do I do, dump him or confront him.

Just pointing out that the two options are not mutually exclusive (ie: you could confront him, and still dump him).
