Maybe they are admiring from afar. They could be shy or by something written in the profile, feel unsure what kind of response (if any) would be returned if they did write. I look at some profiles repeatedly, but don't write them, mainly to read journals(which for some reason I do not see subscribe buttons) or if I forget something about them, I can go back and refresh my memory. Then, of course there's the ogle factor. If it's a hot guy, it wouldn't hurt to have a look now and then.

Or to see if you've made any changes in general because they find you interesting for one reason or another.

I look at profiles for different reasons, but 90% of the time, it is because I have read a post of theirs. And I want to see who is posting.

Why not send them and email and ask? The worst is that they only perved your profile to spooge on your face. lol (oh ew ew ew I said "spooged!") I see that, I always wonder who that person is, why they viewed me, and why won't they drop me a line? If I see them often enough, I will initiate contact. And I try to make a point to send a message if I view someone, so they know why I am on their Who Viewed Me list. But then, I am a curious sort, and will try and figure out any mystery, big or small. I look at profiles because they posted something I found interesting or insightful, or because someone wrote me, or because their picture caught my interest on my perveview. I perv Lady Habiscus a lot, because she's HOT and I enjoy her posts. WinD

I live in a semirural area and every so often I get curious as to who else lives around here. But I don't remember the profiles I looked at a couple of months back so I look at them again. It's really just curiousity if there's anyone I actually know. One of them, who takes himself way too seriously, wrote me demanding to know why I dared view his profile since I'm collared. Was just a little sarcastic in my reply. He doesn't want to be viewed, he shouldn't be here.

The first that comes to mind, since I found I've done it, is looking again because you can't quite remember if you've looked at it before until you actually view it -or if you've just read the name.

As said earlier, why not write them and ask. Perhaps they're too shy and think if you catch them looking at you then you'll make first contact. Perhaps they are just a fan and want to read your whole profile or your journal. Who knows, lots of reasons. I know one person who added me on their admire list but didn't message me for like...two months. Turned out to be an a-ok person, just shy I imagine.

I peruse enough profiles that I don't always remeber - the top reasons for perving someone are: I read something by them in the forums They were the featured profile on my home page They wrote to me (this does not apply here, because I always write back to everyone, unless and until they earn a block - in which case i may or may not actually bother to block them, but i do feel free to stop writing at that point) Not everyone that I view for the first two reasons am I going to bother to write - but if they wrote me, I would of course write back. I also have a small number of people favorited specifically to read their journal - and some of them i have never written, i just read the journal.

My first guess is they may be too nervous to drop a note or maybe they don't know what to write as a way of introduction thus they simply look at the profile.
