OK, again, one last time...I did not read the NYT article, would not ever read it,

Self imposed ignorance is it's own reward.

Just because a county or state was blue this election, does not mean it is neccesarily trending blue.  I do know some areas are trending that way, but to say that every blue county or state is trending that way, cannot be supported.

The incumbent is red and the challenger is blue...but then I am sure you knew that.

All you have to do is stand and pledge allegiance to Dear Leader and you will be magically transformed into someone who is enlightened, intelligent, and color blind.

In this country we pledge "allegiance to the flag and the republic for which it stands" not to any individual.  Is it different in the country where you live?

My implication is, and only is, that if he writes an article tying GOP support to racism, then why not also write that strong support from poor urban types could be only explained as a desire to suckle the government teat?
You don't look at 700 billion dollars to the bankers and insurance companies as "suckling on the government teat"?

You draw your own conclusions, but I am tired of people thinking that just because we are southerners, we are somehow backwards, lack intelligence, or are racist.
Actions speak louder than words, don't you think?

The only thing ther NYT is good for is lining bird cages.  No, I didn't read it, but did read the last thing in the post, which says "There's no other explanation than race."  What other point could the article have?
I voted for McCain because of the content of his character.  I vote red anyway, but have made exceptions when the candidate lacked said content.  Beyond that, you have no idea what facts I acquaint myself with.  It certainly isn't anything printed by the NYT.

If you were to read "ace" McCain's autobiography you would learn of the content of his character in his own words....which includes being a liar, cheat, pimp and a traitor.  If that is what you want in the white house then you did the right thing by voting for him.

You don't bother to acquaint yourself with the facts.

Fact:  A reporter for the New York Times (all the Democratic news that's marginally fit to print) quoted a "political scientist" as saying that the only explanation for voting patterns in the counties Dear Leader did not win was race.

It is vile, repugnant, disgusting propaganda.  This very correct-thinking American rejects it and all such slanders categorically.

Just a couple of keystrokes will get you into goggle and you could find out just who owns the NYT....hardly a liberal by any stretch of the imagination.

Ergo proptor hoc.
The term "political scientist" should be interchangable with "waitress."
Every third waitress who waits on me here has a "degree" in "political science."
And they all want to go to law school further adding to the legions of lawyers out here.

You have told us on more than one occasion how much money your "real" degree made for you.  Is accountant another word for waiter?

You tell me.  Seems like failure to support Dear Leader is being elevated to something damn close to mortal sin these days.

Who the fuck  is this "Dear Leader" you are speaking of.....I for one am confused.

Dear Leader:  The socialist, statist, Democratic Chicago hack politician who persuaded America to engage in an orgy of mass stupidity by electing him president.

You complain that many think that southerners are ignorant yet you do not seem to be aware that the electoral college appoints the president and the vote of the people is meaningless.

The number of times the electoral college has invalidated the popular vote is.....????

Okay. I looked in the ointment and there don't appear to be any flies so ...

If a "poorly educated white person" who didn't vote for President-elect Obama is a racist, does that make black people that voted for Senator McCain traitors or self-haters (I can't think of the correct word. I know it was tried as a defense, once)?

I LOVE generalizations! Every generalization is wrong (except this one).

Hunter, my "degree" is not in "accounting."

Re: The Electoral College:

There are only nine states where ALL of their electoral votes don't automatically go to the marginal winner of the popular vote. Essentially, this means that less than half of the states (depending on their population) decide who will be president.

So, if Californians vote 51% for Sen. A and 49% for Sen. C, then Sen. A gets all of the electoral vote.

Not a problem? Oh, really? If the electoral college's votes were dristributed more along the lines of the popular vote, you might have seen some very different results in past races. 1996 and 2000 come to mind, off the top of my head (as does '76 but, I could be mistaken, on that).

The Electoral College is an idea whose time is long past unless we wish to assume that people are inherently stupid and not able to make an informed decision for themselves.

We have the technology that would allow for a TRUE democratic process in ALL elections instead of situations like the recent one in NYC where Mayor Bloomberg pushed a measure through the city counsel that the people had voted down TWICE (term limits).

Fact:  You either didn't read the article, or you have a reading comprehension problem.  The political analyst was talking about white voters in Alabama, explaining why the 18 percent share of whites that voted for John Kerry in 2004 was almost cut in half for Obama.

Alabama.  Not "voting patterns in the counties Dear Leader did not win".

Brush up on your reading next time before you look foolish (again).

I stand corrected.  Business Administration is a much more prestigious form of paper shuffler than an accountant...when they are both busing tables for waitresses with a political science degree.

I don't understand why everyone's mad at the NYTs when this is clearly the work of cloudboys selective editing and ignorant bigotry.
