I rarely feel hated....and I would be an easy target....The King of WASPs....the middle aged white male that has ruined the world as we know it today!...
I see hate towards others but, I guess I am just so smug, I never see it towards me. We old white guys aren't the most perceptive group you may ever run into.
I am often amazed by others and their views but, I discount some of it due to the way they state their arguments or in having read other things they have contributed to.
I think women on this site have a hugely different experience due to troll infestation....and the unbelievably crass "on your knees bitch" opening remarks.
I think some do not help themselves by assuming the "fakes" and "wannbe" profile entries but, for the most part I have found those of us here to be a bit more
able to look past some differences and ignore those that we think are anything aside from what they appear. But, what the hell, by even being here I think we open ourselves to a certain amount of at least curiosity and lord knows to the rest of the world, a great deal of misunderstanding.

LaTigresse -> RE: The One Twue Way (11/13/2008 3:58:00 AM)

Yeah, I honestly have never felt hated. Nor has there been anyone (including the mental case that is my exhusband, whom I almost shot.........) that I can say I hated.

There are certainly people that I don't like, and there are certainly people that I believe are a waste of oxygen, some I would prefer just expire, but I still don't hate them.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: The One Twue Way (11/13/2008 4:05:29 AM)

I'm curious, Candy, how much oppression and prejudice have you faced personally?  I mean really and truly experienced personally?  Have you been to court to fight an unfair eviction, because of someone's fear and prejudice of WIITWD?  I have.  Have you watched those you love and live with forced to stand their ground, the media, and the court systems and the Township, fighting trumped up zoning laws that were created by those who fear and despise WIITWD?  Again, I have.  Perhaps you have too?  If you have, and feel comfortable sharing, I'd love to hear about it.

Yes, Candy, there are adversaries who hates and despises WIITWD.  However, your approach isn't very helpful, for those who HAVE been effected by prejudice and oppression.   It simply feeds the hysteria, the ignorance and the fear.

I understand that you want desperately to be a part of something.  To belong to a cause and a purpose.  Everything you do, seems to be driven by either a need to belong or an anger and frustration for feeling like an outsider who can't seem to get her foot in the door .  I get that about you, and I believe that many here can relate, on some level, to the need to belong.  I really do.  I think you are like a child that wants attention so badly, that bad attention is better than no attention.  Half the time I want to spank you, the other half I want to hug you and help you connect in some way that brings you peace.

sunshinemiss -> RE: The One Twue Way (11/13/2008 4:07:13 AM)

Here's where reasonable, realistic responses get slammed down by a poster who wants others to jump on the "Life is Terrible" bandwagon.  Or they get ignored.

well wishes, sunshine

Never experienced misogny for yourself?  You'd be the only damned woman I know who hasn't.

Well by your definition of it nope. I am sure that I have experianced prejudice due to my gender but not hatred, hate is a pretty strong word and the way you are bandying it about makes me think its your problem not the rest of the world.

Im sure that ome lesbians do hate men, but no not all radical lesbians hate men neither are all radical reminists lesbians.

Sure its not nice marginalising groups we dont agree with, but the way to ncourage more harmony isnt by shouting at everyone, you are just fighting fre with fire.

LOL. I am not *shouting* colouredin.

Let's see.  We have the L.A. Cops beating on Prop. 8 Protestors, and yet nobody here is mentioning that perhaps those of us 'into D/s' had better watch our azzes.

Maybe part of the problem is not everyone is acquainted with current events in the U.S.

As for misogyny, well, it wasn't that long ago that chicks comprised about 5% of U.S. lawyers.  As late as the 1970's, most American Law Schools had no Ladies' Room.  I attended in the 1980's, and had a Criminal Law Professor tell me 'housewives shouldn't go to law school'.

F**ktard, LOL.

I have found that it is best to limit the time you spend with negative people.  There isn't much value in being around people who are downers.  I'm not wrapped up in what people think about me.  I know who I am at the core and the only opinions that matter are those who are closest to me.

Hey, yanno stef that was really beneath you.

I'm surprised at you.

Why is that?  Your stated reasoning for wanting to convert is about as meaningful and well thought out.

Coming from someone who hadn't even heard of prop 8 until pretty much after all the hoopla, that is pretty ironic.
