This evening, I watched a documentary charting the daily life of HRH Prince Charles, this documentary examined the Prince's private life and public life, and his difficulties there within due to his position.

Now, I have heard it said that this man from his position 'meddles' with things he ought to keep out of, but I have always seen different on this matter, for I applaud the Prince's attempts to ask questions where they need asking and given his position, often it is he is listened to.

The Prince in his own words admits that he does get involved with issues, but he chose to do that, as it was not his wish to appear useless as so many believe our Royalty is today. Though he is the next in line to the throne, the possible future king and head of the Church of England, he actively gets involved with all sectors of the community, their cultural and religious beliefs definately not a bar to his interest, and he isn't just interested because it seems a political thing to do, as he talks of unity regardless of our differences.

So it is, I have heard various, 'others' views, I have my own views, but I would be interested to read of what a community I am involved in has to say, how do people in other countries view our Prince ?

Given his position as supposedly above party politics, is it right that he offers a loud voice on subjects where the mere commoner  is often ignored ?

I am not certain I would agree with all of his views, but from what I have read about him he seems to offer an informed and reasoned perspective.

From my vantage point across the pond, I perceive him as using his royal status in a socially conscious and withal responsible fashion.  I am not a fan of royalty, being myself an ad hoc mixture of avowed anarchist, staunch libertarian, and persistent meritocrat, but, as royal personages go, I have to say there have been far worse examples than Prince Charles.

I have always approved of Prince Charles, he has used his wealth and position in very responsible ways, and tried to shed light on issues that affect everyone.

King of the Britons!!

Prince Charles, christened Charles Philip Arthur George, when (if?) he ascends the throne, might choose any of his christened names for his monarchy, meaning we could quite possibly see, in our lifetime....

Arthur, King of the Britons!

(I've been watching way too many Monty Python clips on YouTube!)

His mom seems pretty nice. Documentary here on one of the stations a few years back, she seems like a pretty normal old lady, other than the castles and crown and all. Her son looks like a decent fellow, plus her grandson has good taste in women.

The thing is about the Royal Family, is that they did not choose their position in life, so no matter how much of a normal life they wish to lead, they are bound by rules, expectations and the public eye, hardly freedom. Just think of all those things they have to do, not because they want to, but are expected to and unlike the rest of us, they cannot be themselves, no matter how much they want to, what a life.

They could stand down , hand the countries back to the peoples and all retire peacefully.

The royal family are a waste of space. Other than the tourism revenue they create they are useless.

If only the flesh and blood of the British people was worth as little as dollars per pound  .
