Other than his taste in women, he seems alright.

I'd watch out for your horse mate,it's better looking than Camilla

Okay.  That whole thing about his wanting to be her tampon?  Deeply, deeply sad.  I guess he was trying to say that he wanted to be close to her (or at least the naughty bits) but let's be honest, tampons are something we use and throw away.  Self esteem issues, anyone? [8|]

GreedyTop -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:21:43 PM)

Huh?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:22:44 PM)

Don't you remember all that stuff from the divorce?  Texts and emails and love letters?  Makes ya plain skeeeeered to put stuff into print.

Not that I would ever put THAT into print.

It's even sadder than that. When Prince Charles told Camilla Parker-Bowles he wanted to be her tampon, he thought he was breaking grounds in the register of amorous chat. He thought it was dead cool to offer to do something so 'feministic' for his lover. He honestly believed he was being sexually aware and thoroughly modern. Obviously, his attempts at poetry failed.

GreedyTop -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:24:24 PM)

I must have missed that (of course, I hardly paid any attention to the whole thing...)

This evening, I watched a documentary charting the daily life of HRH Prince Charles, this documentary examined the Prince's private life and public life, and his difficulties there within due to his position.

Now, I have heard it said that this man from his position 'meddles' with things he ought to keep out of, but I have always seen different on this matter, for I applaud the Prince's attempts to ask questions where they need asking and given his position, often it is he is listened to.

The Prince in his own words admits that he does get involved with issues, but he chose to do that, as it was not his wish to appear useless as so many believe our Royalty is today. Though he is the next in line to the throne, the possible future king and head of the Church of England, he actively gets involved with all sectors of the community, their cultural and religious beliefs definately not a bar to his interest, and he isn't just interested because it seems a political thing to do, as he talks of unity regardless of our differences.

So it is, I have heard various, 'others' views, I have my own views, but I would be interested to read of what a community I am involved in has to say, how do people in other countries view our Prince ?

Given his position as supposedly above party politics, is it right that he offers a loud voice on subjects where the mere commoner  is often ignored ?

I've never quite understood why folks in GB would be willing to pay taxes to support a Royal Family.  I'm pleased to hear Prince Charles is using his position to effectuate change, but really, what purpose do they serve?

Maybe you have to be a GB'er to 'get' it.

You are KIDDING me.  (I mean, y'all know I am the easiest mark in the universe, right?)  Not like Camilla is the model of a modern major general anyway...

Alas, no. I'm dead serious.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:48:57 PM)

I am sad for them both.

kittinSol -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:56:47 PM)

Apparently, they're happy. And... they'd bloody better be, the price they cost us [8|].

piratecommander -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 6:58:50 PM)

It is the unfortunate end result of inbreeding coupled with a "horsey" (not my words............................not this time anyway) woman.

Either that or "tampon" means something else in Greek (hold on.......a Greek king of England ??? )

Prince Philip. Close enough.

piratecommander -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 7:14:33 PM)

well I'm just hoping we get the day off and free kebabs on the day (if it happens) of the coronation

Prince Philip................. close enough to senile and unfeasibly detatched from reality, suffering terminal foot and mouth disease.

Yes , I do beleive that Liz must have slept with him a few times,I have mixed views on this form of genetic experimentation but nevertheless it's impossible to deny that Charlie is quite Greek

SingleRarity -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 9:58:53 PM)

Kind of OT, but growing up my grandmother was obsessed with the royal family and taught me all about them. To this day I have a reoccurring dream where Prince William proposes to me on the beach.  He opens a pizza box and my giant diamond ring is sitting in the center of a thin crust cheese pizza.  I guess that's telling of my priorities, no?

DomKen -> RE: Prince Charles (11/12/2008 10:59:31 PM)

Wait a minute... Parker-Bowles is a woman? Has someone checked to make sure?

Seriously Charles seems all right and will probably be no worse than George III was as king.

The royal family are a waste of space. Other than the tourism revenue they create they are useless.

Not quite. When the nation was bored with Diana's crying antics on television and wanted her silenced, the queen stepped up to the mark by shooting Diana in the head in a tunnel in Paris. Apart from that, you're absolutely correct.

piratecommander -> RE: Prince Charles (11/13/2008 12:16:23 AM)

Historicaly speaking, typically royal behaviour really NG ?
