*AHEM*
To get things back on topic here for the poor OP...I am going to agree with Aakasha on the name thing.  It does reek of being interested in a fetish.  You might want to start over.
I also read your profile.  You list a few things you live for which mean absolutely nothing.  And then your profile text itself is vague.  The one thing that stands out to Me, however, is your emphasis that you are a man first, and at the end of the day you are just a man and she is just a woman.
There is nothing wrong with that per se, but it gives the impression that you will do a few things around the house, perhaps, and that you want to be dominated on your terms.  You can have terms, but that is really not what most of the Ladies seeking LTR's are going to be attracted to. So what do you really want?
My overall impression is that you are someone who thinks you might like a kinky lifestyle, and you want to be dominated, but you are not sure how or to what extent.  Until you figure that out so that you can honestly profile yourself to attract the right sorts of matches, you will not get much response.  You should also remember that many Ladies here might browse profiles, but not all that many will actually take the time to contact a potential sub/slave, unless there is something completely outstanding in that profile that makes them think this could be worthwhile.  So the work is on your shoulders.
Get yourself out to your local groups, show up at a munch consistently, be helpful and offer services at public venues (meaning setting up tables and cleaning up afterward) and you will get noticed even as you are learning all the ins and out of D/s and how diifferent everybody's expectations are.

Personally, I got way more of that here, on these boards, than I ever got at munches or BDSM clubs, GDG.  I think the OP could do with a good bit of reading here.  He might find himself enlightened, as was I.

~FR~  There is no denying that these message boards can be an invalauable education.  But one should never limit themselves to online only, if there is opportunity IRW.
Doing both can certainly pave the way for better understanding of self as well as the many variations in this lifestyle, but I do know too many boys who cannot bring themselves to actually get to that coffee shop.  So I say...the sooner the better!

Well, I probably need to get down there and order myself a house filter now, admittedly.  Yet, I went to a lot of munches a time ago to find that the general conversation was too polite and restrained to learn much.  With what I know now, from these CM boards and by 'meeting' people through them, I feel a lot better prepared to start or join in conversations at munches.  I left them behind a long while ago, but I feel like becoming less of a stranger to them now.

how do i make my self more of a better deal than all the fakes and wannabe's

The fakes and wannabees spend a lot of time trying to make themselves seem like a better deal than the other fakes and wannabees.  If you're genuine, that will be apparent to those who read your profile and interact with you.

If you truly must work at making yourself seem better than the rest, you're a wannabe by definition.

Amen.  I learned a lot from just reading.  Mostly about topics that most people find to uncomfortable to talk about in public places.  Some things that I was very prejudiced about, have completely new meaning and some manner of understanding for me now.

And ask questions!  I know Peon annoyed the crap out of some people when he started because he had a new "What about this?" topic every day.  But he settled down a bit... and I think a lot of people were actually helped by some of the conversations that he started.

**Sorry for using Peon as an example, but he went from Ice Cream to Paddle in about 2 weeks!

Did Peon settle down or did somebody nail his feet to the floor?

Tell you truth, Ms S, if I look at those questions now, even I am annoyed by them.  I look at them, and some of my own comments in the threads, and think "You complete tit.  What did you say that for?"  Yet, the fact that I think that now only goes to prove how fast things have changed for me.  Also, in my defence, the threads I started then always got an awful lot of hits.  Well, I like to think that a few other newbies got helped in the process, anyway.

Well, you and I already had that discussion about how many things I was 'wrong' about when I joined.  No one is born with total knowledge of any subject.  As teachers once said "The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask."
