enjoying the written word This isn't about the written word. This is about having simulated physical human interactions, and simulated physical sexual intercourse, etc. I don't think anybody is putting down the written word here - you want to have nice email correspondence, enjoy. But you know the syndrome of those who "like the written word", and are unable to respond to your presentation in that conference room verbally, and go back to their office, around the corner, to write you an email - those are people who have a communication problem, and they use the written word to get around it. And there are those online who cyber with you (which is, by the way, not the written word, but typewritten conversation) and pretend to be real, or pretend to want something real, when all they want is fantasy. That, too, is a communication problem. There are many reasons why these people do what they do. Some are OK, others are not. Inasmuch as I am not aware that you can write your laundry, cyber is probably OK for kids living at home, and students in dorm rooms, not so OK for people who use it as an outlet without informing the people they speak to. I frequently have "potential subs" disappear on me when I say I will not chat. If I conform to what the sub wants, and she says she will relocate, and this, that and the other, and chatting is the deal breaker, that means that the sub is a cyberfreak. And I thought that was what we were (mostly) talking about.
