The thing about B5 is that it had an overarching storyline, both within the run of the season and over the course of all five seasons. It makes for much stronger storytelling. You can do a lot with a series you know has an end. You can kill off characters and locations with impunity. I saw Stracyznski at a con once during the fourth season, I think, and the man is a genius. He really knows how to work a crowd. He's responsive and insightful, which made him all the better a writer. Londo and G'kar were the bomb. I'll never forget the episode where they got trapped in the elevator together and G'Kar was excited because he got to watch Londo die, even if it meant he would die too. The were like the Odd Couple. I agree that Sheridan was not as good a commander as Sinclair (too much head-bobbing when he spoke), but why watch him when you could be looking at Susan Ivanova? Yowza! She was HOT! I got quite a kick out of young Will Robinson as Minbari Ambassador Delenn's attache, Lennier, too. Not to mention the aforementioned Mr. Chekov as Mr. Bester of the Psi-Corps. Stracyzinski once admitted that he got the Psi-Corps from Alfred Bester's The Demolished Man (the first book ever to win a Hugo), so he named one of the Psi-cops after him. Could have done without the whole bearded ranger character. Marcus, I think. He never quite fit in, and the premise of the rangers was not fully realized in the series, IMHO. Was terribly disappointed in the denouement of the whole Vorlon/Shadow war. I remember thinking "is that it?" I was expecting something a lot more cosmic than "my theory can beat up your theory." Oh yeah, and the organic ships kicked ASS! -------------------- Would you like some Spoo? I hear it's quite fresh today. switch
