Recently, I once more heard the arguments about how guns kill people, how guns are evil, and most of all, how guns seem to make people want to kill people.

So, in an effort to prove whether or not this is true, I conducted a series of experiments, scientific and paranormal in order to get to the bottom of the matter.

Experiment one consisted of putting a loaded gun (blank rounds) on a high shelf out of reach of everyone, training a video camera on it and observing it for a period of 7 days.

The results:
The weapon never made a threatening move toward anyone in the room.

Experiment Two:
Replaced blank rounds with real bullets.

Results:
The weapon once again never moved.

In point of fact the only change in the weapon was a layer of dust that had gathered on it, requiring me to clean the weapon.

Experiment Three:

For a total of seven days and eight nights, when at home I carried a fully loaded 1911 colt 45ACP.

During this time I never felt the urge, explainable or unexplainable to fire at another human being.

I did however develop a craving for smoked oysters and hot sauce, and turkey sandwiches.

Now, considering the possibility that it was the size of the firearm and that was why it had no effect on me, I took to carrying a M1A.

The result was that I again felt no undue pressure to fire at a human being.

I did feel the urge to fire on a coyote harassing my neighbor's goats, a bobcat that was raiding the neighbor's chickens, and some dog that took off with a deer hide I was drying for tanning.....

By the way, the coyote and bobcat did go to the great varment heaven.

The final experiment consisted of putting all my weapons, firearms, knives, swords, daggers, sling shots, crossbows and ammo on the cabinet where my mother's statue of the virgin Mary and her big wall hanging Crucifix was placed after her death.

The entire lot remained there for over a month gathering dust, a clear indication that the things my mother had faith in accepted these items as being nonevil.

If anyone has any suggestions of further experiments to conduct, please let me know.

suggest finding coyotes dependents .. modifying rifle for coyote use and giving the rifle to the coyotes ...

tests show humans have more control over basic violent urges than animals ..

perhaps whatever compulsion the weapons are using will be more effective on a weaker mind

if coyotes dependents cant be found .. try republicans

You're allowed to shoot coyote and bobcats without a permit? Here that's a definite no no.

I suggest redoing this experiment. Give a loaded firearm to someone with known anger management and alcohol issues along with a supply of alcohol and interaction with others of the same ilk and then see what happens.

I.....can't....stop....myself...from responding to this.  I tried!!  Lord knows I tried!  Wrestled myself to the floor & put a choke hold on myself, but I broke the hold & am back at the keyboard.

So, would you advocate that nobody be allowed to have firearms because of the actions of an aberrant few who would do damage whether they had firearms or not???

**Shakes Head as he walks into another conversation that he knows he should stay out of but the desire to be heard and comment is just too great**

See I was around guns my entire life. Dad made them, He hand crafted Henry and McCoy Replicas as a Fine Antique Gun Smith, Because of this there were ALL SORTS of guns around my home.

As An Adult I don't own a gun, not that I won't I just Don't but when my son turns 5 I will be doing exactly what my dad did to me, I will give him a Cap Gun and have him shoot it a few times then I will give him a 45 and have him shoot that once. I learned right away that Guns are not always toys and that they should be identifed first. At 10 dad taught me how to shoot them, at 15 I was proficient with a Rifle, Pistol and Shot gun.

I respected guns because I knew what they could do. People talk about kids getting guns and accidently killing other kids 90% of the time those children has NO GUN EDUCATION  what so ever and that was why it happened and the Kids who did know about guns were more than likely Sociopaths but it's the lass than 2% that always get argued those kids who knew about guns and respected them and still got shot and killed and that somehow guns are bad.

The ONLY reason that I care so much about guns and rights is because the more we allow the Constitution to be altered the less it stands for and harder it is to protect.

"Why Protect the Constitution is no longer stands for anything" I have heard this comment a LOT lately.

The Constitution is what seperates this nation from all others if we lose it then we might as well become England, or Russia, or Korea there is no point in defending it anymore.

Your Rights are what needs to be protected not the firearm you don't like. But we should all fight for the right to own that gun no matter what kind it is because it is that right that allows us to defend ourselves against that gun should it be used against us. Every american Citizen should have the right to carry and protect themselves from any threat including ourselves.

Just an opinion.

I was on another page when I was misteriously drug to this one.

Thank you to all those people above me, who understand the reality of the world. Banning guns accomplishes absolutely nothing. As in all of our problems, the problem lies in lack of self-responsibility of the individual. Freedom is worth defending and giving government a monopoly on firearms is not an answer to lack of self-responsibility, lack of morals, etc.

A bobcat is a type of wild cat found primarily in North American. depending on the area, it's also known as a cougar.

bear a bobcat looks nothing like a cougar. Has nothing to do with a cougar. A cougar is a big cat. A bobcat is small. You can still hunt bob cat in Michigan.  Stalks christy with my pisstol.
