i prefer it to not be part of such things, as it will burn in my head just like godsmack has been with the navy.  more so than that, when things become intimate beyond the realm of innocent, i like silence enough to hear the slightest whisper.

i do like how memories can burn into your head in this manner though, it's powerful, such as when i even think of the movie spiderman 2 of all things, the only thing that comes to mind is "melissa", but i don't want such things to be planned; if music or something happens to be playing that's completely different, and memories are more impactful when they're unexpected.

When I get my subbies on the cross, the horse, or over my lap, I like to beat to the beat of:

Perfume Tree - Feeler (skip the first song)
Veloce - Veloce (an offshoot of PT)

Dreamy lyrics, driving beat, trance-inducing.

There are lots of trance artists I like, as well, but the above two albums are my faves, thus far.

Question: I recently was shown a video with 3 female chelists and a violinist.

I did not catch the groups name. I think they were of celtic origin.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I know its not a lot to go on.

If anyone one's the name of the group I would apprciate it.

for those who like soft jazz......Hubert Laws's rendition of Ravel's Bolera is great and so is Dave Grusin's "Playera".Add David Sanborn's "Lotus Blossom" and you should be good to go.

Break of Reality and Rasputina popped into my head when I read your question. Could it have been two females and a guy with really long hair?

Maybe this website will help you track them down www.folkcello.blogspot.com/

Thank you for reminding me - I should add The Corrs to the music list I posted earlier :)

Massive Attack.

Excellent scene music. That's one of the artists I found through the world fusion stuff.

I like belly-dance music as well. I keep a certain playlist just for scening.

I also like techno and ambient for scening, depending on the scene and what's going on.

Neat responses. I was NOT expecting to see someone actually say "The thing that should not Be" by Metallica. Badass.

Thank you both to Ms Flutter and Mistress Faye!  Bond was the group, however the other suggestions I loved and will be using.

As for Music in a scene. It's a sound, and I love to incorporate the senses, all of them. I think the senses highten the sensations.  Pain is only one sensation, incorporate taste with that........and it ilicites all new experiences. Sometimes I use sounds be they music or otherwise to broaden the scene. For example the sound of a glove snapping certanly works for many. I love music in a scene for many reasons ( although I do not always use music) I like to use the rhythms, to get a pattern of momentum going, or sometimes I purposely want to distract. I wanted the Bond music to use for a staple zipper scene I am planning and I think the music will be perfect during the scene.
Music can pace a scene, add other sensations or moods, or can add to the head space, even take a bottom to another place. I also like to play the same music at dinner just to see the look on the bottoms face!! LOL

Some other scene suggestions:
Blue Man Group
Lords of Acid
Nine Inch Nails
Vivaldi
Copin
Enigma (almost over used LOL)
Lorene McKenna
Xena theme music ( love this)
Dracula theme music ( another fav)

Perhaps one of My favorite scenes with sounds ( it was music to My eyes <weg>)  was I taped a screaming female from a Video and I blind folded and tied a slave to a chair, left the room and hit play on the recorder before I left. It played screams for about 10 mintues. The slave was frazzled when I returned,  and just the mere touch of My hand on her shoulder made her jump! Very effective to get them into a certain head space,

Mmm, we should conduct a survey, see if there's anybody who'd be into that.

*must go to the used record shop and dig, dig, dig*

I think it all depends.  I work with music.  Alot of music.  Infact what I do with music specifically is sett a scene, so, I know EXACTLY what music to use in these times.

If theres going to be a sexual climax, nothing goes better than some really hard Techno.

Otherwise, some dark Ambient for a more dominating/seductive scene.  For a purely seductive experience, I'd go some lounge jazz.

Barbershop quartet.  Hearing four guys mesh into a beautiful harmony really pushes my buttons, ya know...

Actually, it's more like trance, electronica and techno usually.  Depeche Mode is the only artist I can actually think of right now though.
