The first time I heard the word Dad Getting my first bike Solving the network problem after being driven up the wall for six days Seeing someone enjoying their rosy red bum Having someone's warm breath on the back of my neck Ronnie Barker / Morecambe & Wise / Spike Milligan Having a camp fire spark to life after (what feels like) hours of trying Using a small scythe to cut down a tree instead of using the chainsaw next to you because you're stressed The warmth of the sun hitting your face when you've waited for it to come up Seeing red squirrels Finding out a friend's had a bairn Returning home from a holiday Seeing Um dancing Laughing with friends about silly things - "Ah, I see you have the machine that goes Ping!" A cool clear crisp night where you can see the milkyway A plie of burning leaves best smell ever Taking a walk out back and comming apon wildlife and watching them and they don't even know your there. Watching the deer feed close to you and knowing that they see you and they don't care. Having my grand daughter come running over to me to sit on my lap and then lean back into me wanting me to hold her. Having someone smile back at me when I say hello to them. Working in the garden seeing thing grow well that you have planted. Listening to crickets chirp. Having a lake all to yourself while fishing.

Young girls going out and grabbing the world by the lapels. That "A-Ha" moment when explaining something and the person finally gets it. The smell of baking bread. Hot cocoa, a fire in the fireplace, and a movie. People that refuse to be entrapped by their past. Babies. New books to read. Rolling a twenty.

I like the idea that little things can make us happy for absolutely no reason other than they exist. I was thinking about this while watching Penguins playing. Some of you may now I have a thing for Penguins. I think they are the coolest creature on the planet. Everything about them amazes me. Once when I was at the San Diego Wild Life Reserve they were having a special day where up in the arctic area where the foor court was they were letting the penguins run free and when you bought a meal you got a tray of sardines for free. I thought they were for eating but am not into sardines and was really just kind of disgusted that they gave it to me. I sat down and got freaked out at the Seaguls that got real close when diving toward the food, while tenativly eating all the sudden I heard Barking but not like a Dog Bark then I felt a tap on my knee and a Penguin Head came up between my legs, barked again, and tapped my leg again. All the other people were watching and laughing and some guy yelled out he wants the Sardines. So I fed him a few, he barked again as if saying thanks and then walked away toward the habitat. Since that day Penguins freakin Rocked and just knowing they exist can illisit a smile on my face any time. Steel

Having random customers tell me I brightened their day Being able to make a copy of a family photo for someone who believed they could never share the memory Getting random hugs at church Having a toddler walk up to me at work and tell me I look "vewy pwetty" that day Fox waking up 30 minutes before he has to actually get up just to curl up and sleep again in my lap Being asked to come on a road trip with good friends just because The greeting I get when we go to see Fox's family DV

Remember, neither life nor love are big things, not at all. They're both made up of the smallest, most miniscule of moments. My kitties meeting me at the door...even if all they are hollering is "Feed me, mama, before I shrivel up and DIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!" How KB cuddled with me after my little surgery adventure......he not once stepped on my belly....and considering that's his favorite route across the bed...I was amazed! The phone call from my son...just to say hey...... The bike ride home from work.....when it's all quiet and peaceful in the neighborhoods......

soul2share...sounds like you are blessed ! I have a lil dog that has issues and has to curl up under my shirt when he panics.... in a weird way when he settles down under there it is a sweet time as I know his panic attack is over for now ...

There are so many things that suddenly and randomly make me smile.... Seeing the Tickey Kitty use Him as a claw sharpener or food. Watching Him hold the blanket open so Tickey can come lay under the blanket with Him. Making a difference in someone' s life. Watching people interact with their children. Knowing what things i value and cherish. Thoughts of being with the neice and nephews on Christmas day....Watching them excitedly try and guess what wonderful thing aunt "nenn" got them this year. Thinking about what things He needs to get from Santa this year. Remembering the grace and dignity i treated my father with while He was dying. Knowing i'm of value and worth today. Watching animals be themselves. Getting flowers. (it matters not the kind...Just the fact that someone somewhere was thinking of me) Being able to make someone else smile Being kind Being loved. Hearing Him say He loves me Feeling Him lay right next to me and hold me. The tone in His voice when He knows something is wrong. Sending friends ecards, real cards, text messages, emails, just some way to brighten their day. Cooking for Him and having Him come to the table and eat it, no matter how severly i've destroyed it. The way He refuses to pull out of the parking lot until my seat belt is clicked in. Kali
