oh a little ribbing never killed anyone, just makes you stronger and wiser and helps to prevent the recurrence of similar mistakes. Besides it is far more respectable and admirable a quality to be able to admit a mistake than to try to disavow it.

Yes it takes a strong person to admit they are wrong, and I am alot of the time, foolish pride... I do hope none of you thought I was having a go at this group?

Andrew,

For some of us, it IS a big deal. And it is certainly not for everyone. There are people like myself who have had BDSM and D/S fantasies since childhood. For others, it comes to them later in life. And there are also those people who enjoy kinky sex. There's room for all of us here.

As far as BDSM and D/S as a lifestyle, well...that works for some and for others not. CollarMe is simply a melting pot of and for ideas. It allows people to be who they are and to accept others for who they are without fear of reprisal.

Speaking for myself, your comments are questions are always welcome. For whatever the reason which brought you here, I hope you will stay and continue to read the posts.

Well said. BTW, "For whatever the reason which brought you here..." what brought you here?

Or even more popular with *some*, there's option 'B'.

That's where you bunker down and wait till a particular thread containing a gaffe or awkward/embarrassing question slowly disappears into the archives.

Focus.

i agree with Phoenxx and KoM, the sex/play is very precious, but i'd never come to think of myself solely or primarially as someone who has kinky sex/play and was therefore better than anyone else. It takes alot for me to feel superior to someone, and i cannot even hypothesis a scenario in which i'd make that leap based on anyone's sex life.

Well for me the lifestyle has nothing to do with Sex. In my life ive been with very few men sexually . I need to care deeply for them to give them myself sexually.

My point is and please dont get me wrong on this, I sometimes feel some people try to make the "lifestyle" into somthing more than it actually is so they better than people that just have regualr sex....its just somthing that slightly tiggles on my nerves. My other reasons for this is that I hear so many people in D/s that frown upon vanila sex...kinda annoys me that

Now to be obnoxious, but there are bounties of beautiful ladies in many places; you don't need to come here (only) for that. Your profile says you are curious etc. What propels you to keep coming back? Or do you know?

(the woman thing was a joke;) ) Seriously I dont know how to really put this without sounding odd...you know sometimes deep inside there's a part of you that wants to reach out and do things, well theres a little part of me in there which wants to Dominate and a lil part that wants to submit...being quite a shy guy in person I find this very difficult.

Well, I am new to this, but I do have to wonder how much of this is pretnetious or not, whilst I tottaly respect and individuals oppinions and such like, I sometimes get the feeling some people try to make this out to be alot more than it actually is. My reasons for thinking this is perhaps some people dont want to be made out to be a slut, or have moral issues. There for they try to make this out to be some kind of lifestyle (I know some people in person who are very happy in this lifestyle). Dont feel I am having a go at the community, but I do feel some people are just trying to make sex into somthing more than it actually is. Whats your opinions?

ok... maybe I should be alittle less tongue in cheek like I was in a previous post on this thread...

I can't say with any certainty on how much of this is pertentious or just postering egos. I can only reflect that those friendships I enjoy most are those that are true/real to themselves. It is not a question that they are aligned to my beliefs and ideals... it is they are being honest to themself and others in what they are about and demonstrated IT. We often here the terms "True" or "Real" this that and other thing. Generally, I find the term rather poorly used and is more a value judgement directed towards others. However, when the term is used in such a way that is it statement that I am setting the bar for you to judgement against. That who I am is this.....what ever this is... and I will be "true" or "real" to that. Now terms like TRUE Dominant or submissive are rather lame... for it doesn't really say squat! Saying... I am Open-Minded... I am a Person of Intergity..... I am Prudent... I am a Risktaker... I am etc etc. Terms that actually can be understood and demonstrated in clearer context and not so wishy washy "like I am a Trainer of Subs" whoooppee so what the hell does that mean. Usually not much! I do know that I am quick to avoid people that say one thing and do another.... their actions go against there words.... Besides the deep love and friendships I have with my slaves, my best friendships are with my Bottom and her Husband. They have very different priorities and values than I. Their relationship is much different... we share some common ground... but they are much different in many ways... I respect them and care for them as a friendship for some basic common ground... but most of all I respect them for the fact they are not playing games on what they are about, they are true to themselves!.... these type of people are the best of frienships! I hope everyone has friendships like these... for it does make life fun *G*

Sorry, but for me...the way I choose to live has nothing to do with sex at all.
