quote:
what these selfish people don't understand is that airlines are private property. they are owned and managed by individuals. they offer their service because we, the consumer, want it. sorry, but no one has a right to someone else'e property. Try telling that to the restaurant owner who refuses to seat someone with a service animal Like it or not, an airline might be "private property" (which, in point of fact, most aren't. They are corporations whose stock is traded on the open market), but when one opens a business that involves providing a service to the public, one agrees to follow certain guidelines and laws. Using your overblown "plane to myself" example, it would be OK with you if airlines, being "private property" decided to forgo required maintenance and inspections of their equipment? Should be permitted to decide that someone who is black or gay isn't allowed to buy a ticket? After all, no one should be able to tell them what to do with their property, right? Wyld (who also just blew a stream of ciggie smoke in the direction of her laptop.)
