Aszhrae -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/24/2008 11:11:52 PM)

*giggles*
apologies, 'bottom space' interesting concept, who rightly knows there is such a thing

it's different for everyone girl thinks

without getting to philosophical, but it is my belief that each person has a certain resonance, a kind of vibe to them, when words spoken, either by dominant or by sub, when certain actions take place at certain time in conjunction with another individual, something happens, almost a pairing and an awareness shared, immediately each action and each sound takes on a whole new meaning
you change and girl does believe that some dominants change also, its also about when a sub/slave feels at that moment, their master or mistress is right for them

girl really doesn't know, girl has not had it happen in a very long time, but girl does believe that may happen a few more times in my lifetime

moonvine -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/24/2008 11:21:27 PM)

Well, I wanted to curl up in the corner...that's what my instinct was.  Like I said another submissive came to wrap me in a blanket and stroke my hair and stuff..I do remember that...I wasn't just left alone in the corner with no supervision...

Aszhrae -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/24/2008 11:56:59 PM)

girl remembers the last time it happened, girl was shivering and did not know who girl was, totally out of it, same thing, was told to remain calm and eventually just went to sleep

using the third person is what girl is comfortable doing. that's just me

but girl has another question for you all, you don't have to answer, its more a question for the sub/slave(s) but if the dominants want to answer that's fine too.

when you find your self in that place, that single moment of truth, like the world has stopped, the moment is frozen (well not really) but the reality of the moment, like when you bring your hands together and interlace your fingers, do get that sense of calm, the stillness, where nothing else exists? when the session is finished, your dominant is standing there smiling or with a pleased, do you get that sense of fulfillment? and, you just can not wait until your next session with your dominant?

girl is just posing the question and you do not have to answer.

AGAIN.....just as Padriag already stated, during moments of extreme stress and chaos or in moments of artistic creativity. Also for me, I get this from being alone with nature away from the noise and confines of mankind.

Or.....when I smoke a bowl of good stuff.......[:D]

As a suspected adult ADD person, it can be difficult to turn every "noise" off.

Orgasms.

LaTigresse -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/25/2008 3:48:43 AM)

Orgasms are great but with a whirling twirling brain like mine, sometimes difficult to achieve.

wow, padriag, you are the last person girl would have expected to reveal that you have spirit
girl was actually beginning to worry that Dom didn't have a spirit at all, good to know there is a human in there some where [image]http://www.collarchat.com/image/s2.gif[/image]

Despite having spent much of my childhood insisting I was actually a Vulcan... it turns out I am indeed quite human.  However, I'm not a spiritual person and I don't associate such experiences as being in any way spiritual.  Those days when I'm "in the Zone" are just days where I'm very calm and focused despite the stress surrounding me.  That's not spiritual, that's my amygdala shutting down and allowing me to function pretty much with a lack of emotion.  So even though I'm surrouded by circumstance that ought to be causing me to feel fear and panic... I don't, my fear response has shut down allowing me to focus on that other basic response... fight, or in this case aggressively attacking my problems without any panic responses interfering.

Okay... maybe I'm a lil bit Vulcan. [:D]

Orgasms.

Ironic someone should mention that.  Over the years, I have most often heard women talk about subspace, and generally they have had the most intense reactions to it... there may be a reason for this.  Orgasms, or similar experiences that trigger releases of dopamine, endorphins and triptophans have a very different effect on the female brain than on the male.  In women, orgasm or similar events cause entire portions of the female brain to shut down.  In particular the portions of the brain that deal with fear, anxiety, fight or flight responses, etc. all shut down... women are virtually incapable of feeling fear during orgasm.  The absence of this contributes to the feeling of euphoria that many women describe... its not just that they feel pleasure... they are feeling pleasure in the complete absence of anxiety or fear.  Men are different, feelings of anxiety are dulled but not completely eliminated, and the flight or fight response is still very much active.  Women are more prone to loose their awareness of the world around them, men rarely do.  What all this means is women's brains are wired such that during orgasm or similar events, they are more likely to have what might be compared to an "out of body" experience or "subspace".

Orgasm isn't the only trigger for this... its not the orgasm itself that does this, but the release of specific hormones in combination and under certain general circumstance... in other words, an experience approximating the stimuli which lead to orgasm can trigger the same experience.  Turns out, pain can be one of these stimuli.

People are such fascinating critters.

Aszhrae -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/25/2008 8:06:27 AM)

The problem with stripping the mystique surrounding such a thing as an orgasm, leads me to believe it was the first attempt by a dominant to control the orgasm of their girl by understanding it. Is that not what everyone tries to do, having an orgasm such a nice experience, can even be perpetuated with the right touch or a lick in the right spot.
Now, Padriag, girl knows you are not a spiritual person because you keep stating that fact. Girl certainly senses by your replies that you might not be empathetic but perhaps coldly logical.
This leads me to ask this question, which is of course of the original thread:
Do you or anyone else replying to this thread get anything out of dominance of another, other than satisfaction and control?

Girl has most certainly has read what other sub/slave(s) have replied. Girl would really dislike the thought that it is only the sub/slave(s) that get any sense well-being from being with their dominant.

And yes, girl is a very spiritual person, it is through spiritual pursuits of different cultures and their beliefs that girl has come to understand the different forms of self-discipline, being disciplined. It was also through esoteric and occultic pursuits as well that girl was introduced to bdsm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do not remember who said this,
The body endures as the mind becomes enlightened and the spirit does quench it's thirst from the well of fulfillment.

LaTigresse -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/25/2008 8:36:09 AM)

What I get is the satisfaction of being myself. The thrill that, while being that is sometimes socially unacceptable with most people, with the right slave it is "right".

Actually, I'm both.  I get the empathy from my mother who understands people startlingly well on a deeply intuitive level.  I get the logic and reason from my father who's logical nature rivals the computers he helped create and programmed.  The logic/rational aspect of my nature is dominant, but the empathetic aspect is certainly there (both are fairly strong)... so I tend to relate to people on both a rational and an intuitive level.  I'm complicated that way.  Small wonder I identified with Spock so strongly as a child.

However, because that logical/rational aspect is dominant my understanding of things tends to be unemotional, or at least not based on emotion.  I understand the emotions of others very well, and I certainly have emotions of my own even though I repress them to a degree (both my passionate side and my temper tend to startle people, in part because of they are in such contrast to my usual calm demeanor), I just don't perceive the world through emotion.

You on the other hand very much color your perceptions through your emotions, its just part of who you are.  What we really have here is a difference in perception.  We're describing the same world through different perspectives.  Neither is right or wrong... they're just different views (literally).

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: What do you get when you submit or dominate? (11/25/2008 9:33:18 AM)

HI Azshrae,

Logic and empathy do not have to be diametrically opposed.  I can tell you this from the perspective of someone who is both empathic AND logical.  To share an example, empathy can pose a problem for me in that I can literally become ill when living with an ill person.  This has been documented, by testing my own blood sugar when living with an insulin dependent diabetic.  When the diabetic's blood sugar was high, I could test my own and it would register high as well.  Of course, I'm NOT an insulin dependent diabetic and there was no logical reason for my blood sugar to be over 500 -EVER.  We would both become ill.  Weird, I know, but I make no claims of being normal [:D]

At the same time, my mind wants and needs things to follow a logical course, and even when I'm emotionally invested - my rational nature usually keeps me balanced or gets me back on track and in control.

To understand how the body and mind work, doesn't de-mystify it in my mind.  In fact, when you stop to contemplate just how complex a woman's body chemistry is; one can be left rather in awe of what remarkably designed creatures we are.   Having studied Shamanism, I know that there are different paths, or tools, that can be used to reach these heightened states of awareness.  Because I know how the chemistry works, doesn't in any way diminish the experience.

Just my two cents on such things.
