Back on topic :P
I prefer Maam, being southern it is rather simple to use in public as well as private. I didnt like miss because no one actually speaks that way anymore. Fox also uses Mommy, but thats obviously more private. Whatever you like, thats what works. It dosnt matter that anyone thinks, the title isnt what makes you dominant. They could call me Fluffy and Id still be the dominant one.

Oh Peon... you are always good for a laugh or two... but dude... you are a glutten for punishment I think! lol

Oh, it's easy winding someone up online.  I'd like to see him get lippy in a roomful of dominant women.

Now that thought's going to entertain me vigorously for a while before I fall asleep.[:D]

I agree Venatrix!  lol  The thought of that might actually entertain me for a while too! rofl

And I thought you were drifting off to happy thoughts of licking my toes.  I'm sorely offended.

MaamJay -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 12:34:02 AM)

For Me, Miss has overtones of being back in the classroom again with a bunch of students yelling out "Miss! Miss!" I gather they were trying to get My attention, not telling Me what to do with the chalk in My hand that I was considering throwing at them [:D]

So, no Miss for Me please! I started out with Mistress, but when I realised lots of people reserve that for "their" subs, I decided that made sense so those I am otherwise meeting should call Me Ma'am. Only when they are under consideration to be Mine (and I am under their consideration to be theirs!) can they call Me Mistress. I actually prefer the correct spelling with the apostrophe of Ma'am but when I did My profile here, the bot wouldn't let Me have an apostrophe [&:] so I omitted it. I flirted with the idea of Lady but I'm not always one [;)] and I am of the age where Ma'am fits, so that's My choice. However, I have decided that a sub that becomes Mine could have the choice of Mistress or my Lady, the my makes all the difference!

Essentially OP, what suits You and what You like is what's important! And don't feel strange about being a Dominant with a good submissive side too, nothing wrong in having the best of both worlds!

Maam Jay aka violet[A]

MlleVolanges -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 12:50:04 AM)

I like Ma'am. I'm married, so it's technically correct, and it has a nice respectful sound to it. :)

kc692 -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 1:00:58 AM)

I am not  big on protocol most of the time, although people around me seem to say maam. I have "regular" friends that call me LadyK, as I prefer M'Lady over Maam or Mistress, if they want to give me a title. Otherwise, I use just my given name.

zakkan -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 1:01:37 AM)

I'll rather be in a room full of pissed off dominant women than use "sir" or "ma'am".

I have a personal issue with those 2 words... [:@]

You couldn't get more than one dominant woman in a room, Zakkan.  Their heads wouldn't fit.

zakkan -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 2:02:36 AM)

[sm=oops.gif]

Guess I will have to use a chatroom [:D]

That will fit, right?

PeonForHer -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 2:16:51 AM)

I wouldn't bet on it. [;)]

Have you got rid of that verruca yet?

MsStarlett -> RE: Mistress Titles (11/24/2008 3:49:45 AM)

Peon!  When I get my hands on you!

No.

You would like that to much.

I'll just ignore you.

OP: It was a beautful post, and I appreciate  your quest. There are some wonderful groups in CT, that you may wish to check out. They are warm gracious people and you will be able to learn a lot from them, and feel right at home as well. I believe they also have a FemDom group that meets as well. I know there is an excellent FemDom group that meets in NYC if you are able to make that distance.  If you email Me I shall link you to the CT groups.

My 2 cents, is that you can and should be called whatever feels correct for you. There are always going to be peole that have a differing opinion from yours, and as you progress in your Dominance you will see and feel that it is about what glows inside you, and what is right for you and yours........  Dominance is not about pleasing everyone else, it is clearly impossible to do so.  Stay true to what feels right for you, there is no right or wrong way, only your way (although there will be many in your journey that will tell you what they think is best I am sure)  and always remember this, if you try something out and it does not work, you can always ammend it.  It is a journey and how you begin it, will most likely be vastly different for the middle and end of it.  So, Miss Morgan I hope that helps, and personally I think Miss Morgan has a beautiful ring to it.

I totally agree! I felt strange being called ma'am. I am 24. It just didn't seem fitting. Anyway, I just told the sub I would like to be called Miss. It felt good! It's a good start to my re-entry into the lifestyle.

I bolded what I thought was the key here... in the end it really should not be about what others think is right or wrong for you to be called.  Its about what you want to be called, what you feel comfortable with.  If being called "Miss" feels right to you then go for it, because that's the important part.  I don't think anyone should ever feel like they need to fit into someone else's definition, you are who you are.  Embrace the individual inside you.
