ORIGINAL: WinsomeDefiance Dear Persephonee, I'm thinkng Padriag was dangling the promise of his post, just to watch us squirm and bounce with expectation. The tease. Would I do a thing like that? Ummm... okay... I would, but I'm not this time. I do have family arriving in an hour and a couple appointments to keep. But I plan to work on the outline as I can and then see if I can get the writing done this weekend. Won't really leave me any time for proofing and there are a lot of subjects I won't be able to cover. I had wanted to introduce some on Gate Control Theory and how that explains some aspects of pain play, how it works and why... but I suppose I'll have to do something simpler. I had also wanted to cover cultural values regarding pain and how that has influenced and produced some forms of pain fetishes, but I'm not sure I'll have the time. Probably most of it will come down to the usual talk about the chemicals involved, the roles of endorphins, dopamines, seratonin and triptophans, with maybe some discussion of the amygdala and how this all ties in with the mental and emotional aspects. he said, "amygdala" without warning me first.... that was plain sadistic. Damn Gwyn, I wish I would have known you while you were going through nursing school. I bet you were hot and ready 24/7
