To be fair to the OP, I did a test for plagiarism, and only came up with his blog on bondage.com.  I'll run my own writing through it, before submitting it, and find the tool useful.  I know his copy and paste essay reads like a stolen novel, but nothing came up to substantiate the first impression many of us picked up on.

Actually, I can substantiate beyond any doubt that he is a plagiarist.  This essay of "his" has entire sentences and paragraphs lifted verbatim from an article of mine, written in 2001:

Significant portions of this essay were also lifted, verbatim, from an article of mine on Dominant vs. Domineering written in 2000 or 2001:

This essay of "his" has been lifted nearly verbatim from an introduction I wrote for our local Pittsburgh Leather group:

Evidently he liked an article I did in 2002 on orgasm control to also claim it as his own:

http://sirdavidc.multiply.com/journal/item/96

If he has plagiarised this many of my articles, can anyone assume that any of his articles are his own work?

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/23/2008 9:43:30 PM)

The site I use to check for plagiarism is usually pretty reliable.  Must be user error [:)]
Someone else also found "his" post almost verbatim elsewhere.  I imagine that these posts will be pulled by one of the moderators, since it is rather obvious the writing was stolen.

How hard is it to site a source?

BitaTruble -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/23/2008 9:44:06 PM)

[8|] Meh. I despise plagarists. Hopefully, you'll call him on his thievery of your words.

NihilusZero -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/23/2008 10:01:04 PM)

He never comes back to any of his threads, does he?

Rover -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/23/2008 10:08:53 PM)

Perhaps he meant to say that the successful Master falsely claims other's work as his own, and then posts it in conspicuous communities where unsuspecting women may come across it and be impressed enough to write him?

Sounds kinda like fishing, without the beer.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/23/2008 10:10:59 PM)

Well John, now that I have 'the source' of those articles, could you perhaps shed some light on the questions I posted under the Psychological Pain thread?  Or is it past your bedtime?

Actually, I didn't write any of the three articles he posted here at CM.  And frankly, I'm disappointed that he chose to plagairize the articles he did (they're not my proudest moments).

And yes, it's past my bedtime. :)

Just my luck.  Aww well, sweet dreams.

akisha -> RE: THE SUCCESFUL MASTER (11/24/2008 12:00:33 PM)

~FR~

The OP is lecturing not asking for discussion. Seems he is trying to teach us poor unknowledgeable ones what is the proper way to be. *yawn*

"The Successful Master" for me is the one i accept as my Master. The one that fulfils my needs and i fullfil his. Nothing more nothing less.

I know lots of Dominants/ Masters that are successful in their relationships but would not be a successful Master for me [:'(]  because we don't want the same things.

Gosh, you were able to state your view with the use of only three paragraphs.  That's two more than the OP.

If my potential Master would treat me like a child I would tell him to...fade away...I  don't need the risk of being with a secret perv...and nope, I didn't get further then the first line either, as I am not bored enough to read long essays about others praising themselves how great they are (at least according to their headline.) Writing my own essays for uni is keeping me currently busy enough...

I have a different take on this.  My submissive nature, is sometimes like that "inner child" that is so wildly popularized.  I hate to reference it, but it is the best correlation I could come up with.  Sometimes, that vulnerable side of me is uncertain and even shy and feeling that way can have me reeling and feeling slightly off balance for a bit, because the day to day defenses I have, to guard that side of myself - are either gone or breached or whatever term applies.  Until I am able to regain a sense of balance again, it is very comforting to be treated almost childlike.  Ok, that does not translate to - insult my intelligence!  It says, that the person mastering me recognizes that at times the inner self can be fragile and sometimes needs a little reassurance.  It doesn't have to have anything to do with 'age' play at all.

I think it's important that people like this post stuff like this.

For those of us who are still looking for their 'One', it helps us to spot the ones to avoid...[8|]
