Is he allowed to pardon himself?

He has Obama for that

You honestly think Obama would pardon Bush?  Why on earth would he do that?

So that his successor will pardon him if there is a need.  Its the way that game is played.

Did you take Civics in high school?

Irishknight -> RE: Who Will Bush Pardon? (11/26/2008 6:31:29 AM)

I took civics and I have watched them play the game as well.  In fact, I was teaching the constitution just last week at school.  I'm not sure what the way the government is supposed to work has with how it actually does.  The two things are different animals.  The tradition is becoming exactly what I said.
Each president pardons the last if he needs it so that they will get the same consideration if they fuck up.  Its the presidential cover your ass game.

And the amount of historical evidence supporting this silly theory of yours is exactly, let's see... zero.

Good luck waiting for Obama to pardon Bush.  Hope you're not holding your breath.

Apparently Bush didn't pardon Clinton ... oh wait ... he did.  I could show others but there would be no use wasting my time.  Like others, your arrogance and self importance outweighs evidence in your mind.  I have been catching up on posts and noticed that you refuse to acknowledge anything that refutes your fictional view of the world.

UncleNasty -> RE: Who Will Bush Pardon? (11/26/2008 7:53:12 AM)

As has already been cited Cagey, Ford pardoned Nixon.

I wouldn't say this is proof of Irishknights broader statement, but, as unquestionably as a dog humps your leg, it is well past the "zero" thresh hold.

One handed Uncle Nasty

Bush never pardoned Clinton (or vice versa, for that matter).  What planet do you live on?

Uh, already well aware of Ford's pardon of Nixon.  But we were talking about evidence for silly theory presented above, not evidence of Presidential pardons.

Nope, still zero.  No reciprocity from Carter.  Hence, silly theory.
