Actually very rarely is control given up. It's authority which is transferred. Most submissives take on MORE responsibilities and things to be concerned about when they choose to get into a relationship versus if they were single.

There is freedom because it is your true self. Knowing that this is what you are makes you free. Also, I must agree it is in Master T's rule list :)

Freedom is based off self ownership. The idea that you and you alone are responsible for your actions. Someone only has authority over you if you give it to them. You have to own yourself before you can give yourself away. Im my eyes, giving yourself over to someone as completely as being their sub/slave is the greatest exercise of freedom you can do.

BDSM is the practice of alternatives and to a great many of us, it is a way of expressing ourselves. Since I have started becoming an active participant in the lifestyle, I have been happier than I ever was in vanilla relationships. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...freedoms which all of us should be enjoying, but rarely do. To me, my submissiveness is a chance to be truly happy, and a chance where I can be myself and express myself in the means that I choose. I choose to be in this relationship and I choose to be in this lifestyle.
