So far in the last few days I have baked: three sweet potato pies (from scratch), two pecan pies (from scratch); one HUGE batch of chocolate chip cookies that filled two one-gallon zip lock baggies (from scratch); a Jello Cheesecake (NOT from scratch); two loaves of Amish Friendship Bread (from scratch) and I also made a big batch of cornbread and some turkey chili. I'll be most happy to share. Next on my list of things to bake: oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies for a dear friend; oatmeal raisin cookies; another pecan pie; sugar cookies; gingerbread men (so I can bite all their itty bitty heads off ) ... and whatever else I can find recipes for where I have the ingredients... I think I'm hitting my baking/cooking streak now... and so I am VERY thankful for all my friends who I can dump this food off onto 'cause I'm trying to lose weight and having all this junk food around my house is BAD for me...

To the table I bring real home made borsche made with a duck, a briquette of beef, a leg of lamb, beets, cabbages, onions and potatoes. The broth is ladled into wide brimmed bowls, slices of meat are set on the brim and a scoop of sour cream in set in the broth. I am thankful for having such a soft landing in Daytona Beach this year.
