Recently (before I joined collarme), my girl came to me very excited about the prospect of applying to be on one of those porn websites. She wants to apply to kink.com and she's specifically interested in being in something like the Training of O and things like that.

I really don't know much about it because (surprisingly) I don't really watch online porn, though I went to the sites with her to see what she was talking about and she even showed me where "models" could apply, how they got paid and even how their travel expenses were paid.

I didn't really think anything of it then, but I figured since I was here now, I could ask to see if others had done anything like this or knew of anyone who had and what their experience was. I didn't give her a definitive answer on it except to say that if she did, I would want to be there with her and I'd like to know more about it before I do.

This recent thread ended up being about what you are asking.  Slog thru the beginning, and you'll get to the part where Stephann and charlotte talk about their experience with it.

Edited because I forgot the link:  http://www.collarchat.com/m_2289968/tm.htm

Well, aside from giving me a lot of information about what I had asked, I also learned that simple posts can turn into long, drawn out arguments. :)

But seriously, there was some good information in there.

I have no personal experience with kink.com and have no idea what they pay or what their procedures are.  However, Dark Brothers, Score Group, Bang Bus and such pretty much operate like this:

1- Models have a list of dos and don’t they submit along with their photos.
2- Producers and/or casting directors match models to scripts.
3- Models are contacted and sometimes they have the opportunity to ask about the script like if it is anal, oral, vaginal, girl on girl or gang etc.
4- Newcomers are sometimes asked to submit an extra set of current, non airbrushed “reality shots” to assure the production company they are fit for the shoot.
5- If transportation arrangements are needed, a contract making the model financially liable for a no-show is sent first.  Otherwise proceed to # 6.
6- There is a meet and greet for staff and costars, contracts are sign and the shoot begins.

Industry standard rate for an unknown to do a one day shoot be it video and/or stills is $500.

Hi Trealeon, Ultimateteach here
I read your inquiry and read some of the replies to it as well.
I am in the business as a Pro BDSM photographer and videographer and I can tell you its harder than it seems to enter Kink.com.
They are the cream of the crop, have litterly gone world wide in less than 10 years and have a staple of "hot chicks" that they pick from.
Thats not to say that your lady wouldn't make the cut, she just needs to have a well shot small portfolio done by a professional to peak thier interest, remember, they are in the business to make money.

Kink.com is the Playboy of BDSM, they know it and can afford to do anything they want.
They can and do get very picky because they want the best, that does not mean that the girls on the site are the best looking and I have seen better sets and equipment in private homes than the sets they use in the armory building.
They just have the ambience of the building working for them, the rest of the stuff can be shot anywhere by very creative people.
Quite frankly, I have photographed some of the most beautiful woman on this planet who were rejected by sites like Kink because they were "not slutty enough" which made no sense.

All the information you need is available from Kink on the website, they do pay $500 and sometimes more, per shoot per day but that shoot is 4 hours long minimum, which is not bad money.
I have been doing personal shoots for a long time and some of the stuff I have shot, is as good if not better than Kink.
Many other Pros have as well, remember they are just the first to do it but by know means the only one and certainly not the best.
Throwing alot of money at something like this doesnt make its the best.
Current trend is private people doing thier own provocative photos, videos and websites and making tons of cash because its creative, new and individual.

I hope I have not confused the issue for you, just wanted to enlighten you to possibilities.

Ultimateteach,

You pretty much echoed what another member told me about her having to do other types of shoots and such before doing anything on kink.com. Honestly I wouldn't have known they were the "best of the best" because, as I said, I have no experience with them or any other website. Though I haven't talked with my girl about it again (she's home for Thanksgiving now). I got the impression she wants to make, if not a "career" out of this, something that she does regularly. I am certain she would want to do others. I'm not certain she is really concerned about the money but rather the "thrill" of doing something like this and getting paid for it (no matter what the amount).

ResidentSadist,

You mentioned a few other sites and I'll have to plead ignorant on what they are or how my girl would go about applying to them. Obviously I'll search the web but if you have any information on how she would apply to work on these, that'd be helpful. You also mentioned photos. I am getting mixed information about whether she should have "professional" photos or "non-professional" photos. You seem to indicate she should have both. I'm assuming that these photos should be both nude and non-nude as well in both respects.

Thanks for the information. From what I've been reading and getting, it doesn't seem like i have too much to worry about as long as I steer her toward well established entities.

Hi, I was the Dom who originated the other post with the information from Charlotte and Stephan. My girl just finished shooting for The Training of O. Prior to the shoot, we received a letter from the webmaster/trainer. He requested a history, goals, strengths, weaknesses and limits. We each filled out the form and returned it to him. The goals that we gave were used in the creation of the training regime for her. This can be a shoot or a constructive experience for the submissive. They like using lifestyle slaves as it provides them the ability to work them harder than a model. If you ask to meet with the trainer I am sure he would be willing. My girl was a last minute substitution, and her training has not been posted so I wont go into it. But she came home with better posture and a slightly different attitude toward service...:) For me, I got to examine some of my own beliefs about being out of control of her, as well as how I feel about her having sex with other men, as this was only her second boy girl shoot involving sexual service. A good growth experience for both of us.
Incidentally, the thread did sort of run out of control. I bowed out of it early and followed it. Charlotte and Stephan's information was really helpful to me. If you get the chance, please talk to them about it.

Ugh, don't. Horrible 'outfit', I was pissed, the whole thing was so fake it was painful.

OP, I have never heard anything bad about Kink.com. The crew is great, the scenes are fun, if you end up having her apply at other sites, do a little research on them first.

I am curious, as a professional, the camera angle you chose for your profile picture is visually boring, there is clutter spread throughout the picture, left over labels on the desk, etc.  In addition, you are looking directly into the camera in a very posed and rigid way that doesn't seem to say much about who or what you are.  In addition, there are lots of distracting things in the background that don't seem to add much to your photo.

As someone just beginning to explore photography under the tutelage of an amazing commercial photographer http://www.rseagraves.com/?cmd=home and I am curious to hear why you choose to do your photo this way, what your thought process was, and of course what sort of story you were trying to tell with that photo.

I very much agree, equipment helps with the mundane technical aspects but it is the art that captures the emotion and no amount of money will buy you that indescribable skill that is the "art" of it.

I find this interesting because Stephann's Charlotte certainly has that beauty some see only in young women and she seems to posses it on the inside as well, something rather rare but clearly caught on camera and seen by those who know her.  Perhaps they seek a certain look to the photos to see if that  "inner slut" can be captured by the lens?  In telling a story, one must keep their audience in mind and that is as important in photography as in writing.  I can often accomplish that in my writing but I am still very much struggling with it in my photography.

(edited to add Lynx who isn't in my circle but who also looks "sweet" rather than slutty and is also a fine example of youthful beauty)

Personal avatars are rarely ever indicative of the shooting prowess or style of a photographer. Much less so on a site not geared towards that marketing purpose, I'd presume.

I would have to agree.  I know numerous pros whos own images and PR photos pretty much suck.  Just because you are good behind the camera is no indication you are comfortable in front of it (regards the rigidness and pose).  There are also many photographers who are just that, photographers and nothing else and they rely on an artistic director to design and instruct on shoots.  CM are also pretty strict on professional images so getting something artistic past them for the first photo has always been a pretty hard slog.

That said, I have only ever heard good reports about Kink.com.

Thanks, I've already contacted Stephan, and hopefully if you don't mind I'd like to send you a message on here too just to talk about how my girl would begin doing this. I'd like to get all the information I can. I really don't see me having a problem with it as long as it's safe and reputable.
