Hi Folks, I was visiting a friend last night, so didn't see this thread till now. The long and the short is that while there are certainly many women applying to work for kink.com, there's often a shortage of models who meet all of the criteria: a) appearance - after all, it is a porn website) b) experience on camera - a porn shoot is still a shoot, and it can be demanding for directors to work with a girl who's never been in front of a camera before c) flexibility - a girl who's willing to be on camera, but only if her face is hidden, or a girl who doesn't want to be touched below the waist, or a girl who isn't comfortable with bondage (for example) would all result in a lackluster shoot. Girls who have a list of fifty "I don't dos...." just aren't appealing to directors. On the flip side, a girl 'willing' to do certain things, but clearly has no interest or enthusiasm for the activity isn't desirable either. The best thing is for a model to be honest about her limits and interests, and see if things match up. d) attitude - a girl who comes off as a diva or is flaky gets little work up front, and gets less work later because the industry is relatively small. Most everyone knows everyone; I know plenty of girls who just don't get booked because they have poor attitudes and, ironically, they constantly complain about how little work there is. If you're a Pain In The Ass, nobody's going to tell you to your face. Kink.com does list there rates on their webpage, as well as a form to use to apply as a model for someone intrepid enough to go looking. The rates are relatively standard in the industry; in LA, a typical boy-girl mainstream video scene pays between $800-$1000 (yes, even for an unknown.) Kink pays slightly less, but they foot the bill for your expenses including airfare and AIM test if one is needed, standard for any shoots that include fluid exchange (bg/gg shoots). Different companies pay different ways; kink.com cuts a payroll check on the spot after the shoot is completed. Some companies pay via payroll (including tax witholdings depending on the company) and can take up to two weeks to pay. charlotte's only been paid in cash once during her career. As for being 'slutty'; in my experience, a girl's attitude (showing up on time, smiling, being friendly, being professional) is far more important than any overt expressions of sexuality. While it should go without saying that many adult models are highly sexual people, a girl who acts like a brazen slut off camera is often not accorded the same degree of respect as those who approach their shoots professionally. This is, of course, just my experience. As I mentioned to treleon in private, kink.com does book girls who are new to the industry, but usually not for The Training of O. TTOO is a long, demanding, and complicated shoot, and they prefer to work with girls who have shot for other kink.com sites and have established a good reputation. Charlotte, as a newcomer to fetish videos, started doing shoots with Device Bondage before she did any other shoots. A girl who's been doing mainstream porn already might also be cast for Sex and Submission, Whipped Ass, or Wired Pussy before moving on to TTOO. I think that covers the bases. I'm happy to field any other questions here, or privately. Regards, Stephan
