i know that Wal Mart has problems (trampling employees being a BIG one), but i have to say that i love my local Wal Mart. i go there with my girlfriend about once a week, i could just about walk through the whole store with my eyes closed i know it so well. It has everything i need and is very close and convenient. How do you feel about your Wal Mart?

For me, Wal-Mart is a sometimes necessary evil when I need something and can't get it elsewhere.

Since it's the closest store to my home, I go there several times a month when I need something that they carry.  But I sure as hell don't go near the place on Black Friday.  Or near any other stores or malls, either.

I bet they will lose business because of the death today, so they'll probably be slashing prices even moreso this holiday season.

There is one near me, and they have tons of good stuff there.  I will continue to go there, but certainly not on black Friday, but I don't shop anywhere on black Friday.

They bought a chain of stores in the uk.....I had a look at what they have to offer, not impressed with the quality of goods or the queues they expect you to tolerate. The architecture is enough to induce vomiting and it seems that (examples available) they have no concern for the environment.
It puzzled me deeply why they dont sell much Yank stuff too (even Ikea sells Svensk food successfully)
.................until an esteemed professor I know explained it to me.
I will not give them my money.

I hate Wal-Mart!  I only go there if I can't get what I need somewhere else, i.e. it's late at night or I don't have time to drive 30-45 minutes to a bigger town.  If I want cheap crap, I go to our local Fred's, Family Dollar, or Big Lots.  I almost never have to stand in line for my piddly purchases of toilet paper, deoderant, detergent, hair spray, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.  If I want super cheap crap, like birthday goody bag stuffers, I go to the huge Dollar Tree 30 minutes away.  For clothing, I prefer Rugged Wearhouse, Macy's, Rue21, or TJ Maxx.

I always loved shopping at Wal-mart.  However, When I got with Sweets, He was working there.  And still is.  I HATE IT!  He hates His job, they treat Him like shit, and He's always cranky when He's working there.  The money really isn't too bad, but I hate the fact that they change His job description practically every week, and He's made to do so much other stuff, that He never has time to do what He was hired to do.  As soon as He can, I want Him to quit there.  I don't care that He's been there 2 years, and pretty much has job security.  He needs to quit.  WAL-MART SUCKS!!!!

Ok... after saying that, Anyone wanna make a run?  I need a birthday card, razors, birdfeed, a head of cabbage, a new shirt, a picture frame, speakers for my computer, and I need to get my film developed... Seriously... Where else can you find all of that in one store?!?!?  lol

(Ok, so the list is total B.S.  I just thought of the most differant things I could and wrote them down.... But really, If that were my list, I would go to Wal-mart... lol)

I LOVE Wal*Mart. The one by our house kinda pissed me off since they downgraded and now you can't find a lot of craft items you used to be able to find, and one time I had to wait 15 minutes before someone would come cut fabric for me, However there's 2 or 3 other walmarts in town, and they're huge, one of them is even a grocery store too.

I work at Walmart.  My ex worked for them for 15 years.  It's insane some of the stuff that goes on.  But I need a paycheck and there aren't many jobs to be had around here.

I have to admit, I've never been inside a Walmart.  I don't even know where the closest one is.

I boycott.  I still remember when they first started big expansion into small towns, where the citizenry petitioned WalMart not to come.  This was mostly because small businesses who couldn't afford to slash their prices, were being crushed by WalMart, wherever they moved in.  Of course, this effected the area ecomony, not just that of the business owners.  Did WalMart care?  They made it very clear that they did not.

I live in a small town - there isn't even a Target around here. (I LOVE Target). Sometimes Walmart is necessary evil, as someone said.
I quit having my prescriptions done there, because I ALWAYS have to wait a half hour in the 'pick up line'. Which I totally do not understand, cause I worked out how to deal with that - when you drop your script off, they always say, 'half hour' - so, like, I'll just go get in the pick up line NOW. BUT, there is NEVER a pick up line when I drop my scripts off - and never a drop off line - so, why, half an hour later, when I get back, is there suddenly a half hour line? How does that WORK?
I did hate moving them, though, because i moved them to WalGreens, which is my FAVORITE STORE IN THE WORLD! I TOTTALY LOVE WALGREENS! It really is not safe for me to be in there every time I have to pick up my meds, for Realz.
Also, - my hometown, I never Even HEARD of Fred's. But, now that I have - there is a Fred's in town, here - I Totally LOVE Freds. They are SO GREAT!
As you can see - I love a WHOLE LOT of stores - but not Walmart. They annoy me. Everytime I go in there I get a headache.
Oh, and last month I bought a CD there - they put out this whole line of CDs by current artists, in paper jackets instead of crystal cases, for ten bucks. I thought, wow, that's a pretty good deal!
Brand new, it plays like it is totally scratched up - except it is not, and the skipping is in a differeant place each time you play it, but it always skips and jumps and sticks - it is unplayable. I won't be buying any more of those stupid things.

Putting aside I don't like walmart when it comes to running out other businesses and how they treat employee's, there was no stopping them.  I didn't go to them because of it all and then found the other grocery stores were getting just as bad and other employers were just as bad and it was a new way of the world.

Now.. where else can I ride a thing-a-ma-gig that helps me from becoming a sobbing mess and unable to walk by the end of my shopping trip, buy something to eat while I ride, get all my over the counter meds cheaply and in one spot because no one else has them, get computer stuff and games for the big kid here, buy clothes that don't need to be high dollar or quality, get cheap food, do my banking and get my tires changed at the same time?  For someone like me, one stop shopping is the way to go and at a certain pain level, you do what is easiest and cheapest.

I now love walmart, walmart is my friend and it also pays my daughter who doesn't hate her job there, who has a great boss who works with her when the um's are sick or the sitter not doing the job.

It's ok. Not great for stores around it, but what are you going to do. It's good for when I need stuff late at night, like when C and I were hella sick out of town, and I made a walmart run for meds.

People cry and moan about them selling chinese imports, well.... you do realize that EVERYONE sells stuff from China. Jeeze.

I love it......sorry, folks, but around here, you can't beat their prices with a stick.....the grocery stores here are all the big chain stores, and the prices are god-awful.  I do all of my shopping there, both grocery and household needs.  They are open 24 hours, so I can do my shopping late at night after work with no crowds.

Of course, I have NO plans whatsoever to go anywhere near a SINGLE store or mall now until at least February!  If I can't get it online, then it ain't getting got!

You sound like me!  *lol*  I love most places, but not Wal-Mart.  I love Fred's, and the one near me has a pharmacy.  In fact, I even talked my dom into shopping at Fred's once because he needed some random stuff, like light bulbs, rather than driving all the way into town.  He discovered that his coffee (Folgers) was cheaper there as well as spaghetti sauce (Hunt's) and juice for his daughter.  There was only one person in line when we checked out.  He hates shopping.  If he's in a store too long, he says "weasels" get after him.  *lol*  He said shopping at Fred's was nearly painless.  (He stayed longer than usual when he discovered lower prices....just to see what else they had....longest shopping trip ever I think!)
