Many men (not all, don't jump my shit) don't really know what any woman weighs.  They are so used to hearing that 120 pounds is "ideal" (without even hearing the height), that they hear 5 ft 7 and 160 pounds and think "fat".  (its not fat)

I remember there was a local teenage girl missing in the mountains (she got separated from her family). She was 5 ft 11 inches tall and 200 pounds.  She was stocky, but not fat.  They showed her pictures on the news, and the doofus (male) news anchor says to the female anchor, "TWO HUNDRED POUNDS?? THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!".  The female anchor looked mortified and didn't know what to say.  I think she cut to a commercial.  (oh, for the record, the girl was found a couple of days later and recovered)

So if you tell someone you weigh 200 pounds or 300 pounds, and you don't look as big as a house, they may have a hard time believing you.

"Maybe I should add a body pic...hmm... "

You should. You must be yourself because if you are going to meet someone they will know anyway. Putting up a facade makes no sense at all. I would have pics but they keep getting bounced.

I must admit though, that I did not weigh myself for the number I put in my profile. Actually the number means nothing to me. I think I put 195 because I felt 195. I mentioned that to people and none of them them think I weigh that much. If I was diligent I would probably update it to 200 or 205 because that's what I feel. I tend to weigh a bit more in the winter months, which I guess makes sense in a way.

Years ago I weighed more, and between some illness, other problems and factors I lost a significant amount of weight. But once all the crap was over with I felt great. I was determined not to go back. I permanently changed what I eat, how I eat and all that. For years I was quite active, but now my job has become more sedentary, as has my life (I am a slob), and I can feel the weight gain.

I used to fast for as long as five days straight, nothing but beer and water, and the beer is a sort of diruetic so I think it may have helped me shed some water, ironic as it may sound. I have probably done fifty three day fasts. The main trick to that is not to overeat when you cease fasting. I mean if you fast for three days and then eat a whole pot of mashed potatoes, you just undid any good you did.

You eat meat and veggies, stuff like that. And not even huge portions of that.  In other words, take back to eating slowly. Also if you gorge yourself, you might just wind up throwing up.

I am not telling you this in any interest of being desirable or anything, in fact some guys like large Women, I have known a few and happen to know a couple now. But 285 is a bit much.Don't shoot for 120, shoot for 220. Get there and you'll feel ten years younger. What's more there will be less stress on your body and it will last longer. That means a longer productive life. If that isn't worth it I don't know what is.

That aside, take it or leave it, I think the whole premise of this thread is a riot if you look at it a certain way. You are accused of inflating the figure of your weight, that is almost humorous because I would think that most people would do the reverse, understate their weight. I guess it takes all kinds and apparently, we gotem.

Be well.

moonvine -> RE: People lying about their weight on profile? (11/29/2008 9:13:10 PM)

No, 285 is not that big, and while it might "scare some men off" it will attract others, there's no one twue attractive weight any more than there is one twue way to be submissive, dominant, or anything else.

I've had men lie to me about their height - not that height is a big deal to me, but when they tell me online they are 6', and I meet them and I ask them again how tall they are (thinking I was confused) and they said 6', and I'm 5'4" and can look them in the eye without heels..they aren't 6'.  Which would make me totally unwilling to trust them with anything else, if they can look me in the eye and lie about a basic thing like how tall they are.

kiwisub12 -> RE: People lying about their weight on profile? (11/29/2008 9:29:22 PM)

I must admit that i see no reason to lie on a dating site. The whole reason i was on was to find a dom - and to my way of thinking , lying was a bad way to start any relationship - so, i listed my weight, height and age accurately. No reason not to - if a potential dom had problems with big boobs, i was not the girl for him.[:)]

Some guys are just super sensitive about their height haha, I understand where you're coming from though. 6' seems to be the go to height for guys that are 5'9, just like 5'8 is the go to height for guys 5'4-5'6

Termyn8or -> RE: People lying about their weight on profile? (11/29/2008 10:03:01 PM)

OK OK I admit it, I put my height at 5'11" but I am only 5'10¾". Shoot me at sunrise.

Fasting isn't healthy. You go into ketosis and thats rough on your kidneys. My kidneys are already stressed. Plus, it kills your metabolism. I used to fast a lot as a teen...it really doesn't result in long term weight loss. You gain the weight back when you start eating again b/c your body has gone into starvation mode. For example, from ages 11-18, I would usually fast during the school week and then binge/purge on the weekends...at 18, I try to recover and eat normal...and I gained over 170 pounds in two years and find out I had developed an underactive thyroid. I am on a strict diet right now trying to fix my GI problems...I'm not allowed fresh fruits or veggies, dairy, eggs, anything spicy, anything fatty...etc...

10 years younger? LOL I'm only 23...I don't need to feel 10 years younger yet. ;)

Hmm, lieing about their weight.
Maybe they don't want to be mistaken for Walmart shoppers.

Term,

You are the first person I know who has recommended beer for weight loss rather than weight gain!  lol

It is still a lie.  I don't care if they are sensitive about it.  If they are that super sensitive about their height that they are going to lie about it on a dating site, albeit a kinky one, they aren't going to be able to dominate me, because I'm not going to trust them enough to submit to them.
