Well doll, I guess we differ in that respect. However the binge was likely the problem. If you don't take in more than you put out there is no way in hell to gain weight. I avoided that like the plague. Coming off a fast I would eat very little. Increasing it gradually back to normal levels.

I have come to realize also that I seem to have been blessed with an efficient endocrine system which regulates my blood sugar quite effectively. I mean some people faint if they miss lunch !

Hmm, lieing about their weight.
Maybe they don't want to be mistaken for Walmart shoppers.

Anyone who has THAT major a hard-on for anything - really needs to just do it already.  For your own mental health, please, for god's sake...go hit that den of all things evil, Walmart, that you keep harping on.

I listed my weight when I registered as 84 kilograms. It still says so, as I never bothered to change it. During the years I have become more heavy though, having seen 88 kilograms. I do not know what it is now; might be anything from 86 to 89, I suppose.

So if you tell someone you weigh 200 pounds or 300 pounds, and you don't look as big as a house, they may have a hard time believing you.

~fr~

After a year of hard work losing 70lbs through sensible diet and exercise, according to the 'official' government charts I'm still overweight.  My lower half is a size 12 UK, and my top half size 16 (broad shoulders and good sized boobs).   My time at the gym has replaced fat with muscle and I'm quite well toned.   I'm the same height and weight as a friend of mine - she's a size 16 to 18 and significantly more curvy than me.

So for that reason I refuse to put my weight on online checksheets.  I will happily share my dress size, but not my poundage.

I actually left my weight blank because I don't weigh myself and I'm not going to start so I can fill out a CM profile:)
I just say I'm fat and if you don't like fat women you won't like me.:)

I passed out on day 5 of a fast around 5 years ago...fell down the stairs...dislocated my knee. That was the last time I fasted for a prolonged period of time. I had to fast earlier this week for a day and a half or so for medical reasons...and it was super easy...I'm scared it's going to get me into that habit again. It's very dangerous and can do real damage to your body. Not to mention the fact that you lose mostly muscle mass, not body fat. You need protein to maintain your muscle mass.

It is very easy to gain weight when your metabolism is slowed from fasting or calorie restriction. I had my metabolic rate tested once last year and I was only burning 500 calories a day...at 300 pounds. I should have been burning 2100 or so.

Actually I've stopped weighing myself too.  After spending a year as a slave to the scales, I decided to liberate myself.  [:D]  If my clothes start to get a bit tight, I cut back a bit, or I increase my exercise.  I'm never going to look like Elle McPherson, and I'm always going to have podgy bits.  But despite this, I get plenty of compliments about my body.

A couple of weeks ago I had a minor car accident and was left with whiplash injury to my neck and muscle/nerve damage in one shoulder.  It's still painful and it means my exercise regime has had to stop (even gentle running and walking makes my neck hurt).  So I've put a few pounds on.  I was worried my partner would notice this, but he didn't.  Of course he didn't!

We obsess too much about weight, when it's appearance and confidence that matters.  A thin person who doesn't care about their appearance or attitude is unattractive.  A bigger woman with bags of confidence who dresses (and undresses!) well is sexual dynamite!

Funny thing, I am a fitness buff...I workout 5 times a week, weigh myself a couple of times a week, and I do it for ME!...Not once have I ever tried to talk anyone else into taking up an exercise regimen and if I like you , I wouldn't care what you weigh, if you exercise or not, as long as you are happy who cares? I have met wonderful people who were average weight, over weight, underweight or in a constant transition between one or the other. Feel good about being you and let those who worry about such things worry about the rest of it. Do what you do for you!

simpleplan2 -> RE: People lying about their weight on profile? (11/30/2008 6:09:48 AM)

I'm the same way.  I exercise because I feel better when I do.  The side effects are good also, but my main motivation is feeling good.  I don't really care if anyone else does.  I will say, tho, I'm not attracted to those who have "let themselves go" and that doesn't mean overweight.
