My desired longevitgy has to do with mile markers; seeing my kid graduated from her grad school; seeing her married; holding my first grandbaby; seeing the second grandbaby. This would take me to about age 59. Age 65 strikes me as a good date to check out. I guess i fear aging, but i dunno; if you've served your purpose, IMO, you should shuffle off this mortal coil and alleviate some of the burden on young families. (No insults are stated or implied against the elderly or their caregivers...the question is what do you think about Y/your life.)

The opposite view says stay healthy; have lots of screening tests done; eat vitamins; exercise, etc. i once read an article in Reader's Digest, suggesting we could slow aging and live to be 100 yrs old.

What's Y/your take on the matter?

i plan to live to at least 128 and raise havoc in the old folks home doing wheelies in my chair and basically doing whatever i feel like as i'll have earned it. women live a long time healthily and youngish in my family, so i think this is a reasonable goal. i also don't want my munchkins having their own munchkins too soon, so i need to stick around for that as well. i'll eat what i want, and not exercise too much and just get by on good genes. another plate of christmas cookies, anyone? carrots, too!

My brother and best friend in the world died when I was ten. Part of me went with him to that grave. So, for the longest time I wanted to die at the same age he was when he passed away 19.
Of course that age has come and passed. Many more relatives gone. The way I figure it, it really doesn't matter if there is a heaven or a hell. We all have to check out sometime. So, I live life as if it were the last day of my life. I have no regrets and no matter what happens in the afterlife I will be amoung those who love me.
So, any age is ok. I've had a full life. I firmly believe I will live until my 70's at this point.

michael, we always welcome your posts, no matter the opinion---if we have driven you away then shame on us for not being as tolerant as we expect the world to be for us---I think we just find it hard when one is so sad--but this is your venue to talk and we have not done a good job listening--agree or not we need to listen--

btw I want to live to be well over a 100! still kicking ass and taking names!!!

I want to live as long as I am reasonably healthy and can live independantly. If I could stop aging right now, I would want to live forever. I think there's gonna be some really cool stuff in the future.
On the other hand, if I were to have a debilitating condition or accident, tomorrow is fine too.
My maternal grandmother will be 93 in Feb and is still the meanest bitch on the block (and the sweetest).

Does it matter if people enjoy your post or not? Most here don't enjoy mine because I am honest and to the point. People don't always want to hear honesty especially when they are playing for sympathy.
We all have our problems, I stated one of mine I grew out of.
For everyone who doesn't like your response there is going to be someone who does.

Then why bother to post anything at all?

Passive-aggressive whining isn't any better than regular whining, you know.

LOL @ girl4you2
thats too funny

I will probably be similar, except I will be the old crazy cat lady in the decrepit house down the street who the neighborhood kids call a witch and I will have to chase them off my porch with a broom

there's three reasons that i can't

1. it costs too much to do

2. it's not the same as being born female

3. it's too late for that for me

It still doesn't mean you can't meet a Mistress who makes you dress in women's clothing and turns you into her little woman.

There is a silver lining in everything, it may just be a bit harder to find.

I believe Krystal just paid 8 grand for her surgery. Renee paid 17 a few year's back so it gets cheaper every year.
Of course you have to take the hormones for a period of time first. Live as a woman. Counseling.
YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD. By the time you'd be ready you'd have the money saved, it may be 5 grand by then.

Michael; i hear you. i know the way you feel; if that is not too presumptouous of me. i have been deep in the Valley, where no sunshine reaches. i was able to emerge with God's help and the help of other people. i just want you to know intellectually that it is possible to emerge from the Valley. i just want you to have at least a flicker of an idea that life could be better. People here can be very kind and many have faced severe problems in their private lives; and we care about you.
