Submissive is not synonymous with 'wimpy'. To my thinking, a masculine, intelligent sub/slave is a real prize - just as a masculine, intelligent man is in the vanilla world.
Wimpy subs are just no fun - there is very little to interact with. Doormats are uninteresting and one-dimensional. (think 'shooting fish in a barrel')
On the other hand, however, if every step with a strong submissive will be a struggle and every day a different negotiation about some miniscule point or another - been there, done that, walked away.
