Most my donating cash goes to charities helping children in the United States.

I have always wanted to buy apartment buildings to provide housing for the ill until they can get disability, as here is little out there that helps them and many end up homeless if family of friends do not take them in.  It can take years to get disability.  I also wanted to create things that they could do for some employment so that they could help themselves and be as active as they could be even if they could not work full time or support themselves.  A part of this would be in providing services for their families and programs to help the um's get through without as much damage as what happens currently.

I would be putting a large amount into medical research for rare or orphan diseases.  And if unlimited funds, I would open clinic's that would better serve those with chronic illness or disability that would welcome them rather than treat them like wastes of life because they are hard to treat.

I would fund whatever I had to fund to work on making government actually work for the people and run the bad guys out and put some who know their real place as employee to the nation in office.

I better stop... this could get to be too much fun...

I don't have endless supplies of cash but I donate a sizable chunk of my income and have done a lot research on where my dollars go farthest.

My number one donation is to a group of micro credit banks. These organizations make very small, <$100, low interest loans to the poor, almost always women, for the purposes of starting a business. Repayment rates are as good as any lender could want and my donations primarily go towards  expanding where the banks operate. Studies have shown a remarkable success rate of these loans getting the very poor out of poverty.

I also donate to Child's Play. I was in the hospital for a lengthy stay as a child and having nothing to do all day but watch TV in bed was awful. Child's Play gives toys and games to hospitals all around the world. That it is a charity for and by gamers is just a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

I also give to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. I wanted to do an animal charity and this is the one for me.

Actually you can see if your area has a Performance Learning Center, which is a different approach to teaching those in High School. Just google PLC or Performance Learning Center, as they are supported by http://www.gatesfoundation.org/about/Pages/overview.aspx which supports Global and US programs.

Welllllllll, quite honestly, my first choice is one that is 'unable' to accept 'charitable donations' ( the local school system here  ), outside of that though I would start with the local FOP, then move on to state law enforcement agencies, the fire dept's, the hospitals, hospice, animal shelter/rescue ( of all kinds, small/large/domestic/wild ). One of my favorite charities that I would include is the Make a Wish Foundation. We also have a local agency here for the prevention of teenage pregnancy which utilizes teenage volunteers who offer to 'be a parent for a day' for families who can't afford child care. It's a fantastic organization and it really helps teenagers understand what being a parent really means.

After all that, I guess I would look around at the bigger charities like the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

I have gone to a local outlet and bought some decent fleece blankets for $5.00 and have given them  to the homeless.

Eh, mine really isn't a charity, but a Doc that lives down the road. He opened up his own practice after working for several years in the ER. Now he has a little office where office visits are 40 bucks, stitches are like 15, injections are hella cheap, and he has good office hours too, opens later in the day so he can stay later. He says it's because more people get dinged up later in the day.

I can't tell you how many people I've driven to his place to get stitches, tetnus shots, Xrays... and none of their bills have ever been over a hundred bucks. In fact my ex stepped on a nail recently, and he got all fixed up, tetanus shot and antibiotics included for 55.

I'd like to get that guy new equipment, pay for his insurance, stuff like that- because he's made such a huge difference for the people in the area.

Other than that, I like the Red Cross, the local one around here needs a new bloodmobile, this time one with the machines needed to do the double bag thing.

Toys for Tots is nice, but I think it's seasonal, and I'd prolly up my monthly thing to the SPCA.

some of it would go to the brain injury association - they run a summer camp program for brain injured minors and adults every year. for one week, they get to have "normal" summer fun (ie horseback riding, swimming, archery, cookouts, etc) away from home, hospitals and doctors.

another part of it will go to breast/cervical cancer awareness and research and another would fund the music. theatre and art programs for area schools

forgot to add - i would also donate to a couple of homeless shelters that support women and children

I am not sure of it would be a charity but i would work towards making sure every child no matter who their parents are had health insurance paid. I would insure them up to a year after they are out of school whether it be HS or undergrad and can get a job.

If its seriously unlimited, i would pay off the deficit lol and give the US people a tax free year including having to pay income tax lol on the condition that the money is spent on paying off their debts.  If they don't have debt then they have extra money to enjoy.

I would help stuff that benifited needy and abused children, and I would help out people who really loved their pet but fall on hard times and can't pay their animals bills since I have been there many times and it's heartbreaking to look at the vet and tell her I can not afford the 200 dollar costs of his needs

. I would also give to the rescue organizations who pay the medical bills to get injured dogs up to snuff to adopt. I'd also pick one or two deserving families a month and pay their adoption fee's and the first year of pet care.

Why an endless amount of money?

Seems a rather odd question are you saying that if you had all the money in the world certain charities you wouldn't donate to? Surely you can donate to every single charity under the sun even the "Cold seats dooo cause piles foundation." if you had an endless amount of money.

odd question.

St Judes Childrens Hospital. They never turn a sick child away, even if the parents cannot pay.

FR:
I have already started a charity and anyone who wishes to contribute is welcome.
It is called HHFRMUH...The Hunter Home for Runaway Mothers and Unwed Horses...
We take in new and aspiring whores and old retired whores.  We provide free apeasiotomies and free boob jobs, both enhancement and reduction plus any other cosmetic surgury that they may want if they feel it will enhance their self image. The new girls learn all the tricks of the trade from the more mature ladies.   Every trick is a $1000 trick.
This is a labor of love for all concerned...the girls motto is "There is no hardon we can't soften"
The purpose of this charity is to see that everyone gets laid...perhaps if bush&co. got laid more often they would not spend so much time starting wars.

If I had an endless supply of cash I would'nt give to charities, I already do that as do many others, what I would do, is take it upon myself to buy land and build homes for the homeless, wherever they may be in the world. Then when people have somewhere to live, the next job would be employment, self sustaining workers co-operatives, where all the workers benefit from the fruits of their labour and have an equal say in what is best for them and their future.

I wouldnt help charities.  I'd give the money to random individuals that need it.  Dont get me wrong, I love donating and helping out, but if I had an endless supply, I could get it to people that REALLY need it right NOW and not just whenever.

If girl had an endless supply of money, girl would build hospitals and schools in Africa, make sure people had good drinking water by building desalinization plants along the coastline, being careful not to disturb the natural habitat of indigenous flora and fauna, hire those that can teach individuals how to grow crops that survive in arid climates, figure out ways to restore the health of the land.
Have site designated for a research facility that would not only be a think tank, but where advancement in health sciences and technologies could be researched and developed to make the world a better place. Where the industrial contemporaries and traditionalists would not have a say in development. Develop alternate technologies that would not require resource mining to poke holes in the earth's crust and maybe develop a lightning machine that would help to create ozone and strengthen the planet's ozone layer.
Establish a central administrative body of charity representatives so that monies given out a separately could lumped together and that all would work together instead of separately.

I would research local organizations first and then make a list.  Most likely environmental organizations, education and groups that assist animals would be priorities.
