This day is NOT about anything or anyone other than Greedy and Pirate.  If I may, please indulge me, you two.

Please make this your day.  If you want it at the court house, in an out house, under a rock, on a roof... that's all that matters.  What other people want DOES NOT MATTER.  The only thing that matters is what you are able to do, within your means, on your time frame, and that is meaningful to YOU TWO.  To hell with the rest.  Trust me, I was a bridal consultant for almost four years when I was finishing my certification and classes.  I watched so many couples compromise what the truly wanted for what they thought would make other people happy.  People helped out and all, but guess what?  The couples who yielded to all the insanity usually told me privately that they wished they held their ground because all the headache and torment of trying to make it all successful, was not worth it.

This is supposed to be an occasion joining the two of you together, not making you pull your hair out by the roots.  (Pirate, I think you're pretty safe here, lol.)  In all honesty, I support any plans and arrangements that you make because you know that I will be there, at my Greedy-girl's side, wherever you decide it to be, and on whatever day you choose.  The day showcases you two... and is not a side show at the circus.   The top billing goes to your wedding, making it a way for people to get to meet each other via your event is secondary.  If you forget this, call me and I will repeat it to you.

Red is so right with everything she said.  This is about Greedy and Priate, what they want comes first.
Like Red I'll be there no matter where it takes place. The Main thing is that they have it their way and

It's very clear to me with the amount of tact and diplomacy that You've exhibited here that not only are You worthy of Greedy, but she is indeed worthy of You as well... You have made a tremendous impression on me, and that's difficult to do.  We have been talking a lot about marriage stuff....Only cause His sister just got married......NOTHING happening here folks.. *DAMN* Anyway....  one of the things that i told Him is marriage is very important to me, because it's a public sign of our committment. It's letting God and everyone know that we are going to do whatever it takes to be together for the rest of our lives.  It's saying once and for all to the world that we are a team, approach us with respect or bug off.  When i looked at my reason or rational for getting married it really put all things into perspective to me. i am by nature somewhat of a people pleaser. (STOP LAUGHING!!!!!) It really causes me physical and literal pain when i am made aware that i have somehow hurt someone else's feelings or caused them harm in some way, shape, or form.  Having said all of that, i will tell You here and now i have already made some important decisions regarding our wedding..(You know..The imaginary one we are having..LOL). When (or if) the time comes i will not take anyone else's situaitons into consideration. On that day it will be all about He and i.  So it should be on February 7th, all about You and Greedy. The problem with trying to accomadate everyone else's needs, wishes, or desires is somehow somewhere Yours get lost in the process. And that's not fair to You or her.  i'm one of those 'many time bridesmaides' and i can not tell You how many times my friends (family, etc) who are getting married and realize that somewhere in the process they lost themself....They lost sight of what it was this day is about.... It's about You and it's about Her... No one else....Nothing else...Don't worry about hurt feelings.....Don't worry about unmet expectations....... Do what is best for the two of You..Make You both happy, content, and peaceful. Because at the end of the day that's the person You love...That's the person who You are planning on spending the rest of Your life with.....That's the person who is going to be there when You are sick, happy, lonely, tired, frustrated, horny, etc.
Seriously, enjoy the day....Set boundaries and limits. Screw the people who want to get all 'ofended' and 'hurt'. Tell them to suck it the hell up that it's not all about them.
