Take Vitamin C, about 1,500mg - 2,000mg a day. It always works for me. It will either prevent the cold from developing, or, if I do get one, it is much milder and much shorter than it would normally be. Take the Vitamin C in smaller doses (250mg or 500mg at a time) spread out over the day, rather than in one large dose. Smaller doses are better absorbed by the body. If you think it may upset your stomach (if you are prone to that), take it with a snack or a meal. It's never caused me any tummy probs, but everyone is different. Not to worry about getting too much -- vitamin C is water soluble, so any excess will be flushed out of your system. Echinacea is a good immune system booster, but only if it is taken every day, over time, whether you're sick or not. I have heard that once you get sick (or feel like you're coming down with something), it doesn't do much to help ward off illness. Hope this helps. And congrats on your impending nuptuals. May you both have a lifetime filled with more love, fun, joy, and contentment than you ever dreamed was possible.
