For the Record.
I have nothing against New York, New YorK People, or the New York Yankees.
Geezh, how things get turned around here!

Fastlane breaks into his karaoke machine and begins singing.

"These little town blues.......

Peace, Kevin

My dear fastlane .... How did things get turned around?? Well lets see. Wasn't it you who first said "no second chances ever" Followed immediatly be " I must be in a New York state of mind"

Now tell me, is not your first statement a most unyielding, seemingly uncaring, and unfeeling point of view? And did you or did you not immediately follow that statement with the one about New York that carries the implied conotation that New Youkers think and feel as you do??

Now lets see is there any other possible interpertation of those 2 sentences? Me thinks not Sir. Now I am wondering however, how one could possibably turn around this most obvious meaning and come up with another plausable one? Gee, maybe it is me, but, I certainly don't see any.

I am however, sorry, that I have taken you to task on this point. Perhaps it comes from my background growing up in Brooklyn

The shortest unit of time in the multiverse is the New York Second, defined as the period of time between the traffic lights turning green and the cab behind you honking.

Yup .. you got that right. In the city it is "Lead, Follow or get out of the way"!! Gee I am glad i am in the midwest where it isn't quite so hurried. Still I love going home!

girl4you2 -> RE: slave's second chances (12/28/2005 11:36:44 PM)

there is an excitement in that city that is unlike any other. i'd add to that new york second the time it takes to run across the street before the cabs start honking as well. jaywalking in nyc is the norm; it's hard to go from there to another city and wait for the lights. i adore new york, and the people there are super. i'd love to have a place there and another in the country someplace. i've been twice in the past year and plan to go again soon. bricks, excitement, and no suburbia. yeah! chances abound in the city that never sleeps!

I think the question was about giving the slave/submissive....a second chance?
A slave who turns it around and blames her Master for her mistakes, is not a worthy slave to begin with, in my view.

This in my opinion depends on whether the infraction is of something that the slave has specifically been instructed on, or if the infraction is due to someone mis-interpreting an instruction.
If you tell your slave that they are not allowed to eat pancakes, then get angry when they eat waffles just because they are pancake batter in a different shape, who is to blame for the problem? Them for not asking if your rule applies to waffles or you for not saying that waffles are included in your edict?

sounds tricky.... i mean, if hes a new sub, would it be best if he learns from his mistakes????? after youve punnished him, of course.... (im speaking as a new sub)

Mark :)

phoenixslave -> RE: slave's second chances (1/2/2006 6:50:22 AM)

theres a difference between a mistake and willful defiance. i have made honest mistakes and believe me when i say Master can punish but i have punished myself as well. It comes down to basic respect which yes every sub/slave deserves. Master can be strict and very severe, but it rarely involves punishment. It does involve reward when something difficult to get right the first time is finally achieved. Sometimes the word isn't forgiveness, its patience.
