The one thing I don't want to hear is "Ow! That HURT!" because... let's face it - DUH! - If I didn't think it was going to hurt, I wouldn't DO it!

What about "Bollocks!!"? Cos that's just about bound to come out of my mouth a few times.

The only words that have true value to me are "Mistress" and "yes" and the first of those is limited to only the ones I own.

Anything else is a matter of the specific dynamic and what we are doing.

I totally agree. The intensity of the session is proportional to the amount of audio stimulation. If you are a sadist and spank/whip your sub and you get no auditory response, no verbal response (cries, moans, begging) then I believe the session would be rather dull and boring. Certain KEY words may increase the satisfaction for you. As in "PLEASE MISTRESS" uttered in a frantic or desperate tone of voice.

My point is that certain words may key a positive response or a negative response based upon your feelings. You are not the only Domme or woman that I have run across that doesn't like the word cunt. And I am sure that your subs know not to use this word in your presence. I don't really know why but "You Fucking Pig!" does not do it for me but "You Fucking Sow!" does.

What about the sounds of submission outside of play? The silent expressions written all over his face... the little sounds that come as a surprise like an intake of air or the release of it... the contented sigh or the excitment of kneeling next to you and the words 'yes mistress'. The sounds in play are great, but anyone could make them in the right circumstances. The one's that really push my buttons are the one's that come from love and devotion to me and the relationship and I happen to think those last longer.

I think it's important, and delightfull, to bring all our senses into play as much as we can. Whether in the dungeon, the bedroom, or anywhere. Sound, sight, smell/taste, touch ...in all degrees, from the strongest to the most subtle. Being fully present is the key.

I can't agree with this more! I love that sigh of contentment as clip settles down at My feet. The look of peace that crosses his eyes as he closes them while he hugs My leg or rubs My foot. The way he looks up at Me when I smile down at him.

Don't get Me wrong. I love those great sounds made during play, but there really are both sides of it.

I have a friend of Mine who helps out in the club I frequent in Atlanta. One evening when I was between scenes, I was sitting in the lobby chatting a bit with her, as I tend to do. I'm definitely into sounds, especially with light instrumental type music in the background.
