I have pulled up stakes and started fresh a few times. Once I left everything behind except the clothes on my back and what little I could fit in a backpack. I took a grayhound to San Diego, paid first, last, and deposit on a nice sized apartment by the beach and then went to find a job. I had enough saved to survive while I waited it out. The day I found a job (the second day) I bought a bike. I had never ridden one before but since I had to wait a week to begin working I had time to learn. My job was 7.8 miles from my apartment, but it was a fairly easy path from point A to point B. The only things in my apartment were an ice chest, and a sofa I bought from a neighbor. Gradually I had a fully furnished place which I repainted, had completely cleaned, and nicely decorated in a beach theme. It was the best time in my life. It was a new adventure. LOL it didnt hurt to have all that eye candy around with the Navy men in town. And because at that time there were so many it made the local men extra determined to impress the ladies. DANG.. LOL I miss that town!! Kyst
