"Make a statement, without saying a word..."   [:D]

i'll have to remember that red...especially on my first day of work when i walk into the finish room and see how the 4 men i'm going to be supervising take to me.  (mommy!)

I have a night light that bubbles.  When you walk into work those men are going to want to finish you. Beware if the want to show you their tools.

a bubbling nightlight?  does it make cute little bubbling sounds too?

I have pulled up stakes and started fresh a few times.  Once I left everything behind except the clothes on my back and what little I could fit in a backpack.  I took a grayhound to San Diego, paid first, last, and deposit on a nice sized apartment by the beach and then went to find a job.  I had enough saved to survive while I waited it out.  The day I found a job (the second day) I bought a bike.  I had never ridden one before but since I had to wait a week to begin working I had time to learn.  My job was 7.8 miles from my apartment, but it was a fairly easy path from point A to point B.
The only things in my apartment were an ice chest, and a sofa I bought from a neighbor. Gradually I had a fully furnished place which I repainted, had completely cleaned, and nicely decorated in a beach theme.
It was the best time in my life.  It was a new adventure.  LOL it didnt hurt to have all that eye candy around with the Navy men in town.  And because at that time there were so many it made the local men extra determined to impress the ladies.  DANG.. LOL I miss that town!!
Kyst

My first recommendation:  get a granny cart.  You know, those metal mesh boxes with the wheels, that grannies used to drag behind them?  LOVE mine, it really saved me when I was carless and needed to shop.  The bike is also genius, because walking is good, but bikes are FASTER.

I have a granny cart and would be hopeless without it when I need to get more than my old arms can carry.
Living in NYC having a car is more of a liability than necessity.

im' wondering if a backpack would work as well as a granny cart.  i think they should change the names of those myself....

Backpacks are in. Go for it.
