I'll put the pedal down if I'm on the freeway and I need to put a lot of miles behind me. However, there is nothing deliberately aggressive about my driving, even when I am in a hurry; I tend to view my car as a potentially lethal force and I am not interested in killing a person I have ever met over a vehicular ego tussle. I slow to a relative crawl in the rain and poor weather conditions, I do not ride other people's bumpers, yadda yadda--not because I am particularly mild-mannered, but because I am not interested in being at fault in an accident, and personal experience has taught exactly how fast most cars CANNOT stop if the car ahead of you slams on the brakes. Take into account, of course, that I am nearly 40 and have learned to control and manage my aggressions in various ways. I cringe to think of the way I drove as a teenager, in much the same way that I cringe to think of the people I hurt in fights that I could have avoided. *shrug* C'est la vie, I guess.
