I think it is worth considering that ANY punishment could be arousing to a submissive by virtue of the knowledge that they are by submitting to punishment.......serving. They are allowing their Dominant to release his anger/frustration on their flesh and no matter whether they find the activity itself pleasurable under "normal" circumstances may simply find the mental aspect provocative in a sexual way.

Hardly!!!! There are some punishments that are not meant to be arousing to a submissive. The submissive should NOT take pleasure or arousal from knowing they have done something that displeased their Dominant to the point of anger or broken trust.

Any dominant that would take out 'anger/frustration' on the flesh of a submissive WHILE angry or frustrated is showing they do not have control of themselves, so how can they control or 'dominate' someone else? The toys we play with Boys and Girls can be very dangerous, and a dominant must use his/her head when wielding them. Cuts and bruises CAN be consider badges of pride at times, but a ruptured spleen, kidney, or broken bones do not fall into that category. Striking in anger IS abuse not dominance..... not sadism. Any submissive subjected to that should press charges not take pride in the fact or be sexually aroused that they submitted to someone out of control.

Pardon my blatant generalisation but subs are attention junkies and not giving them attention forms the basis of the most successful punishments, if it is necessary to travel that path....

Personally, I hate punishing because in denying her attention, I'm denied her service, use or company and I make sure she knows that early in the relationship. But I will not be coerced into flogging etc as punishment because it's anger with her actions that decides a punishment is warranted, The only attention she'll get from me is to explain my displeasure, frog-march her to an appropriate corner and start the clock.

It can take several forms but to "frog-march" someone was basically an act of control (and humiliation) while removing them. If you've ever seen a bouncer remove a troublemaker, often they'll have hold of his belt at the back (like for a wedgie.... lol) and walk him while partially lifting him so he has to walk almost on his toes to keep him off balance, thus limiting any further trouble.

I'd hafta be really pissed at my girl to frog-march her to the corner but the rare times I've done it, I've grabbed her by the hair and forced her to walk virtually on her toes that way. It's an interesting mind-set because as angry as I would've been when doing it, I'm even more conscious of not physically hurting her because of my anger and strength.

She had no complaints but I know she actually loved it. How can one not love submissives?!?

Don't ask me why it's called that; maybe it's just an Oz term or something, but I've been hearing it off and on all my life.

Let me throw this out there. How about a punishment that is more for training.

An example: You send the new sub to clean the toliet. The job was done well but not quite up to the standards you expect. So would a spanking, that is enjoyed on a certain level by the sub, still be an effective means of training/punishment for such an offense?

Hmm I would think that making him/her do it over again, to your standards, would be punishment enough because not only are they redoing the job, they have your displeasure to contend with also.

If the girl is screwed silly afterwards, its play spanking.

If the girl is left to think about her action while chained in a dark closet with a gag in her mouth, then it is a punishment.

If the girl is spanked til her ass cheeks turn bright red and then rubbed down with lemon juice, then it is torture.. or play for the good little masochist.

Isn't that the same as saying a person should not get pleasure from receiving or inflicting pain or pleasure from any act that is outside of missionary sex? Who can explain why people are wired the way they are and receive pleasure from things outside of the conventional.

The fact that I get physically aroused when my Lord uses a certain tone of voice and manner of speech with me in no way lessens or diminishes the message he is trying to convey or the pain I feel at disappointing him. My Lord does not use corporal punishment as a rule and truthfully, I have never been punished by him. I have been talked to and had behaviors corrected but never punished. Because of this reaction, he and I now have some interesting possibilities for a role-playing scene. It certainly won’t make his words outside of a scene any less effective in correcting my behavior. It also lends itself well to "make-up sex" when he desires it.

I agree with this. Knowing that I have displeased or upset Master is punishment enough.

Never has Master struck me in anger, but, on the other side, I have never given him reason to feel that he should. He is harsh, he is very tough on me, but he also cares for me above all else, and would never go out of his way to hurt me in that manner.

It is unfortunate that there are those out there who feel that punishing while angry is the only way to get a point across. I agree with you MzKim, in this respect. Any submissive or slave that has been put in that situation should think twice about the relationship that they are in.

No, it isn't the same as saying a person should not get pleasure from receiving or inflicting pain or pleasure from any act that is outside of missionary sex.

For quite a few of us, there are varying degrees of punishment. There are some minor punishments that can lead to some interesting scene ideas (which seem to be the type you discussed).... often these are enjoyable and arousing at some point in the process. However, there are punishments that are much more serious in nature that hold no pleasure. Want some examples?

1. Focus50 mentioned standing a sub in the corner and depriving the sub of contact and/or attention from the dominant.

2. One I used for a subbie that went out dancing one evening rather than doing as she was instructed, I took her on a 5 mile hike in tennis shoes with a pebble taped inside of each shoe. I then had her wear shoes a size too small that evening when we went out and had her dance for me all night without being allowed to sit.

3. Another not so pleasant punishment I used with a submissive that lied to me about taking the trash down to the dumpster was taping a bar of antibacterial soap in his mouth and having him stand up tall with his back against a wall (without touching it) while holding the bags of trash straight out in front of him for 25 minutes while I watched. He was not allowed to lower his arms forcing the muscles in his shoulders and arms to fatique while tasting the bitter soap. After the 25 minutes was complete, he was told to rebag my trash on my balcony piece by piece (still not rinsing his mouth with water) into smaller bags. Then he had to take one bag at a time down to my dumpster on foot until it was all gone. This involved 2 flights of stairs, a 1/4 mile walk to the dumpster, 1/4 mile walk back from the dumpster, 2 flight climb back up the stairs to grab another small bag and begin the trek again. It took twelve trips to get all the trash down to the dumpster.

Of course there are other punishments I've used over the years of varying degrees. I do not design them to be something the sub would enjoy or wish to ever repeat.

The important thing to remember about that punishment is that there are a lot of tiny bones in the feet that can break easily. I taped the pebbles in a place would cause discomfort, but not create injury. Also she was only in the size too small shoes for 5 hours. It is important to take care when punishing the feet. She did get a pleasurable experience the following day. I took her to get a deluxe spa pedicure to baby her feet some.

LOL I can imagine. I know my feet are so sensitive that anything hitting them or rubbing them causes me major problems, so, just sitting here thinking about that is making them hurt lol.

My sig other does not deliver spankings or beatings that I would classify as "playful". While I deeply and thoroughly enjoy the FACT that he is delivering pain at any particular point, I do not physically enjoy the transaction. It hurts. A lot.

Even so, I still agree that being forced to be seperated from the attention of my sig other is the worst punishment he could inflict.
