I need heavy medication.  Or my best boy to beat.  One or the other.

Never doubt the power of administering a good beating to lift your spirits, Christmas or otherwise.[sm=cute.gif]

These days when I want cheering, I picture a certain someone who only eats milk chocolate being forced into eating my latest Dare Food:  Lindt 99% Cacao bars!  I am the one who eats the choco powder from the tin, and those suckers kick MY ass.

My fledgling business is in serious trouble of going down in the worst economy in 75 years.
Holiday sales are down more than 50% from last year.
I am facing bankruptcy, possible loss of home, and serious financial ruin if it goes down.
My wife's other relationship is rocky and troubled.
We have aging and sick parents and old kitties - dark times are ahead...

Much to be sad/worried/stressed about this season for me...

But you know...

Last night, a wonderful Lady put me in her collar and cuffs and held me close while I slept warm in her bed.
This morning she decided to be late for work and came back to the bed for cuddles and love
As I type this, I am wearing a beautiful red satin night dress, wrapped in the softest red chenelle blanket, and my toes are painted bright pink!
I am more connected to myself and my relationships than I have ever been.
I am wrapped in love and softness and I am content with my life, my challenges, and my incredible bounty.

We most of us live in countries where opportunity flows like water.  We enjoy overall better health than many in the world, have a home, an internet connection, and friends who love us.  Even if you find yourself lonely this season, with your list of challenges in your life...there is so much to celebrate and be thankful for.  [:)]

MERRY CHRISTMAS   [;)]

Ahhh.... Thanks Lady Pact & Otters.

While the over sized Santas vex me greatly, I am also glad to see them spending so much money.  Our December sales have been up considerably.  I don't really know how to explain it.  Perhaps people who would normally purchase a suit are just renting.  Those who normally pay a professional Santa to appear are just drafting a buddy to do it and they need clothes.  Or they don't have money to give good gifts to everyone, so they rent a really nice Santa suit to compensate for the crappy stuff they are handing out.  *shrug*  I have no clue as to the truth of the matter, but we've had way more 'walk in' rentals and more people opting for the 'Real Deal' velvet suits intead of the economy or regular versions.

WAY more plays and pagents are getting stuff also.  I guess in bleak times, people need a distraction.  Even back during the Great Depression, some of the only thriving businesses were entertainment based.  So, I'll batton down the hatches.  Not invest in to much new inventory.  Sell off the back stock.  Sew my vast horde of fabrics into new products and pray that Obama can make good on some of his campaign promises.

You lucky, lucky bastard.  [;)]

Bugger the material problems: you have the main thing.  Not that I'd want to describe your excellent lady as a thing, mind.

But, still, best of luck in 2009.  Think laterally, is my motto.  I teach philosophy to postgrads and I also do electrical work and plumbing.  Stay elastic, matey, and you'll not go far wrong in these hard economic times.

You remain a beacon on the dark road ahead for me.

Take care of yourself.

Simon

I'm with you on that one.  Any day I can feel the sand between my toes is a good one.

I am not a Domme...but my sentiments are between the Bah Humbug and Thank goodness it is almost over.

As an adult I have not ever really enjoyed Christmas and preferred it when I lived away and had a job
that wouldn't let me get away.

It is another day...but now have the parents and Mom loves the idea of family together for Christmas
and my dad would be content just staying home.

I will be driving the folks to my older sister's providing I get over my cold and mom will enjoy it, dad will
tolerate it and I will be glad when I get back home.

We go to Las Vegas for Christmas and avoid the trap altogether.

Good Holiday season to you too!

Hope Christmas morning finds you kneeling under the tree in wonder at a beautiful Lady with a wooden spoon in her hand just for -you-.  [;)]

Not unlike many of you , I have very mixed feelings .  My family's all up north - and I've no urge to head to the middle of intense ice and snow storms ( I'm way too spoiled here ! ) .   At this point , by my urging - present exchange has been pared down to almost nothing - as most of us have too much damn "stuff" anyway .
And seems most all my good friends will be either away , or are going through various personal crises .  So I'm trying to offer support where needed.

I put a few lights outside on a sudden compulsion - and some little favored indoor thingys that signify the season .  But I'm not sending cards - I thought it would be nicer to try and call people instead .

As for Xmas day itself - I refuse to be a victim of the calender.   I'm planning to make a whole bunch of sandwiches and pass them out , along with some fruit and water , to the inceasingly large bunch of thin,  raggedy lookin' homeless folks that have been panhandling around town .  I discovered long ago , it's greatly uplifting to step outside your own world and help others in theirs.

           A peaceful spirit , and a few laughs to all !       [:)]
