Lots of people go out to eat during the Christmas hollidays moreso than at other times of the year due to parties, gatherings etc.
What are some of your favorite restaurants and why?
Also, do you go to them during the rest of the year?
Do you go to some more often than others?
And, what are some of your favorite dishes oh, and do you order desert?

My sub and I love Akasaka, The Olive Garden and The Outback. We hit these at least twice a month. He is taking me to The Olive Garden for my birthday and then a show. My favorite dish is their chicken alfredo and he gets whatever I pick for him. I love their salad and breadsticks they are awesome.

So many restaurants, so little time.
Lately, I would say "The Cheesecake Factory" and good old "Red Lobster".
I went to Mrs.K Tollhouse for a birthday party a few weeks ago, very nice also.

Going to 'Lawry's the Prime Rib Restaurant' this time of year always reminds me of the holidays. It is yummy, festive and fun!

I don't have any special ones just for the Holiday's. My favorites are favs year round.

That being said I love AppleBee's, Mary's Pizza shack* ironically don't love the pizza, but I DO love their chicken parmigan and their bread sticks and ice tea* Doesn't hurt that Daddy just happens to work there too.* I also like on the Boarder, Woodies, Red Lobster, And this one isn't a restaraunt it's a little drive up mom and pop burger joint, but I ADORE Bowinkles. The only thing I ever get is a  double bacon western cheese burger and fried zoochini and extra ranch, it's so good I don't care for anything else on the menue. I also like jack in the box, and the only thing I eat there, are the extreme egg sausage sandwhiches, 2 of them and a huge ice tea, or Teriakie bowls. I used to get hamburgers and stuff, but their burgers are kind of dry and over cooked tasting, Plus I am making attempts to eat healthier and smarter, and any way you cut it* no pun intended, Egg saussage sandwhiches are healthier than burger and fries.

Yes, we do go to some more than others. Mary's pizza shack is a regular stapple any time we're near his work, since he gets a employee discount on eating there, and the comp some of my order , depending on who's our server.

We don't normally order dessert no. I am usualy to full by time the end of the meal, and frankly I hate to pay 7 or 8 bucks for something I could of had cheaper, or for free at home. If the dessert sounds really exotic I MAY try it, but not likely.

YHMA, we went to "The Cheesecake Factory" last weekend.
We all ordered appetizers and shared 3 salads, we saved a lot of
money and had food to take home.
Many of the large appetizers can be a meal, and we also shared our food
with each other!
We even took slices of cheesecake home with us for dessert.

6 adults and our bill was $140, not bad for a night at "The Cheesecake Factory".
I also rarely buy drinks at restaurants, why pay $8-$10 for one drink?

MzMia, I know huh, I ordered a huge mud slide at applebee's last time we went  there, and it was really good so I don't regret it but I didn't even get the slightest buzzed feeling, and that's really honestly why I bought it.

When we go out to eat it's just Daddy and I, and I can hold my own very well with one plate so we don't usualy split. All though Applebee's did have this deal where you could buy two meals and one appitizer for only 20 bucks. We almost did that.

This was my nephew's birthday party celebration, he had one friend
and my niece had one friend.
They all giggled all night, it was fun.
This time of year {or any time really} money is an issue.

I am so glad we could all eat and have such a nice time, and watch
our $$$$.
I am often amazed at how big appetizers can be, and they are half the price
of an entree. {At certain restaurants, anyway}
The side salads were HUGE and we split them and still have salad to take home!

I prefer privately owned local bars that serve good food.

If I am not careful I fill up on breadsticks and ice tea at Mary's then I have to take the rest of my meal home with me. Course that could be good or bad depending on how you look at it hehe.

See for me, even if the food's good, if the atmosphere is to loud, I won't ever go back. And the only bars I ever knew of were super LOUD!

I have severe problems coping with loud places, or places I find to be unpleasant stimulation wise. It's not uncommon to get a severe headache after just 20 minutes in a loud place for me. And if I am not happy cause the place is to loud and it's over stimulating me, I'm not enjoying the place or the experience. That incidentally is why I'll never go to Chevy's. They play the music there WAY to loud, and it's constant  non stop. I was actually driven from the restaurant, because I couldn't tolerate the noise level any more. It also made having a convo with my family extremely hard since nobody could hear the other.

I like loud bars.  I even liked smokey bars even though I don't smoke.

Yeah, I am not regular patron of chain restaurants.  I prefer local places, and I like the adventure of trying local places when I travel.  I fucking hate Applebee's (I got kicked out of an Applebee's once ), Red Robin's, TGIFriday's, Bennigans, etc, etc.  Those places just plain suck.  Any place that gathers all of the waiters together to sing a ridiculous birthday song for embarrassed patrons needs to be firebombed.

We did that to my nephew, he turned red and I thought he was
going to crawl under the table!
loved it!

That's simple.

Stop telling people who'll tell the waitresses it's your birthday. Or make it extremely clear it's not tolerable.

They only do it because someone either you, or some of the people at your table tell them it's your birthday.

Hell, I've done that to people when it's *not* their birthday!
"Hey! Pallie, here's $10 see that lady at my table, today's her birthday!"
"Embarrass the shit out of her!"

LOL Speaking of smokers and smokey places, in the waiting room at Kaiser today, there was this women who walks in and promptly announces kind of loudly to the lady she was with  Eww it smells like cigarettes in here that's disgusting, then a few moments later announces again to the women she was with,, It stinks like cigarettes in here to me, does it smell like cigarettes to you? I turned to her and said that's probably because there's  people in the waiting room who smoke.

The lady she was with muttered under her breath you better shut your mouth and keep your comments to yourself, but I wasn't fazed, I didn't pursue it either though. Continuing the encounter just wasn't worth it.

People don't do that to me.  My friends know better; I'll embarrass them by pretending I'm retarded and asking the waitress for hugs (actually did that once), or running out of the restaurant pretending like I'm crying (threatened to do that).  After all it is my birthday.  .

I don't like the atmosphere in those places, the food, or the overly gleeful waiters and waitresses.  It's just not my scene.

slaveboy, I am laughing at your pretense to be retarded during some of those occasions. I suppose we should be offended since it's not funny to be retarded , but hey I found it funny and I'm not gonna pretend I didn't.
