As previous posts inferred; there are many uncooked burgers that need to be dominated as soon as possible. Work is work...regardless of its form. Mooch is mooch (or some variant therein). Words of "Wahhh my paperwork is keeping me from working..." are just plain pitiful. Is this an issue of can't or won't? Is this an issue of wounded image and can't masculinate himself enough to do something productive? Your house better be fucking spotless then...the worst thing for anyone to do is become mired in the misery of resting inertia...it becomes paralyzed intertia all too soon. In my line of work; you work your ass off until there is nothing left to do...then you help your team mate...repeat as needed. Staple this note to his head: Don't just sit there. DO SOMETHING!
Tell him you are afraid of nothing...because that is what he is doing...nothing! All relationships are based on something. You are both at risk. His nothing will consume your narrow margin of something and you will all end up with nothing.
Ps this post applies to any and all inertia bound moochers/underacheivers/low performers regardless of context.

Communicate. You are afraid that he may mooch off of you. Sit down with him and express your fears, and try to work something out between the two of you, something that keeps the relationship but does not permit him to take advantage of you.
