Well, I have met people who were highly skilled, or very competent within certain fields of endeavor. And that kind of thing I regard as objective, and existing in and of itself.

But ever since I was little I've regarded people who've donned the mantle of authority dubiously, whether it's been parents, school teachers, peers, religious, politicians, or moralists.

I do recognize and respect experience and expertise - where it is relevent.
(Well - as far as respect goes, I respect everyone in-as-much as we are all equal before the eyes of whichever deity you'd care to name or not name, and in that we are all fellow wanderers on our little space-ship mud ball.)

I have been blessed in my life to meet a number of such people and not just within the world of kink. Some have exuded charisma and others were unobtrusive and quiet yet in both types, they attracted people to them without fanfare or drama.  From them I have learned what they were willing to teach. 


Hmmmm, it still boils down to someone exuding authority because of the art they have made in doing just that.

They simply know how to act or come across to get what they want...nothing mysterious or supernatural about it at all.

people have a tendency to attach all this spiritual mumbo jumbo to power and authority and a lot of them never consider the fact that the people who have the ball have it because of what they do or what they were given.

The people who know what competent leadership looks like recognize the expressed leadership qualities in a person and react to it.
