Loving the new sig line, Red darlin.  I'm off to bed too.  Does that mean that we get to sleep together tonight???

And yes, Linea...  I think we are sleeping together then.  Can I be the little spoon?

Well, you WERE irresponsible.  You participated in an argument that kept you up until 4 am on a school day.  And then, knowing you had to go in at least once a week, you didn't do that either.

i agree with Cali. You knew the rules and ignored them.

myotherself -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 6:19:17 AM)

I agree.

As a teacher myself, a student coming to see me to say "I couldn't bring my homework/make our meeting/come into school because I had an argument with my partner"  would tick me off no end.  I'm not there to be a relationship counsellor, I'm not there to be anyone's mother/therapist - I'm there to teach.

Get your priorities right.  Shit happens in your personal life, you deal with it and you don't let it intrude in your work/school life.

Hopefully your teacher will give you a second chance, but use this time to figure out exactly how much you want this education and then make sure you do all you can to deserve the privilege.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 7:00:55 AM)

I seem to be running into frequent posts about you and your Daddy fighting.  Maybe for Christmas he should invest in a gag and a cage and let you out only for school and necessities.

If you are fighting with your Dominant so much, I think you have more worries than looking irresponsible to you teachers.

Good luck with things.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 7:25:52 AM)

time to get really blunt here - girl, you need to get your shit together!

arguing until 4a and then missing school because it?!  you definitely have a major problem that needs to be worked out between you and your Daddy. this is not a healthy relationship if you two are constantly arguing ...and then broadcasting it here. you need to look into counseling.

if i were you, don't use "i was having an argument with my partner" excuse when you talk to your teacher. he doesn't need or want to hear that ...all he wants to hear assurances that you're willing to work hard to continue in this independent study program.

impishlilhellcat -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 9:22:55 AM)

I'd have to echo everything that everyone else said before me.

I've been there been in school had devastating things happen in my life still I got my butt out of bed did my work and got to classes on time. It's just part of life and part of being an adult.

stella41b -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 10:22:43 AM)

I can only echo what the others said here.

This is independent study, not high school. I've been a lecturer in a Polish uni and I was pretty much understanding provided I knew in advance which allowed me to make allowances, even if it was 'I split with my boyfriend' sort of excuse. Students are, well... students, and students can do some pretty crazy things. But they come onto the course of their own free will and I always held them responsible for that.

The best thing I can advise in this situation, if you do have the good fortune to catch him Monday, is to apologize and tell him point blank that you fucked up, not anyone else, but you and that you missed his message, and that you're sorry. In his shoes that's the only possible approach I would see working.

As for fighting with your Dom, are you broadcasting this because you're proud of this, or what? `How old are you? This is the sort of stuff a teenager would get up to, not a fully grown adult woman.

My take is that you've got a respect issue, please correct me if I'm wrong, but until you start respecting yourself and showing others that you respect yourself, and then others, you're always going to run into this sort of drama.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 10:28:42 AM)

One of the things I love about my D/s relationship is that there are no arguments.  He tells me what he wants me to do & I do my best to do it.  If it's something that I can't do or just can't do right then, I will tell him that & we will discuss it.  But there are no arguments.

windchymes -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 10:57:57 AM)

I have to agree with the others....when you're out in the real world with a paying job, your employer isn't going to be as lenient about absences, no matter what the excuse.  They'll be paying you to be there doing the job....and the habits you form in school carry over into the work force when you join it.

My suggestion is, next time there's a fight on the horizon, you say, "Look, I can't deal with this right now, I have to be at _________ tomorrow morning!"  And stick to that.  Lock the bedroom door if you have to.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: I missed a very important call from my teacher I am freaking out! (12/20/2008 10:16:09 PM)

Gags only muffle the noise, not stop it, and then I could do the whole plaintive cat thing and reach out and swipe at him with my paws * grinning*

Yes. That's true, there's bigger problems than school if we're squabbling so much.

Yes, I left a voice mail, and I'll call again and I did tell him I didn't know there was a message on the answering machine.

I don't think it's self respect, since you can have all the respect in the world, and maybe still fight with your partner. I would say it's lacking the ability to tune bullshit out and not react to crap. If I hadn't of reacted to his shouting at me we wouldn't of had the fight.

Either way I'm hoping you're not fighting now and I also sincerely hope you find a way out of this somehow on Monday.

Sounds to me like you're just treating this all like a big joke.
Fun & games and jokes are fine but I thought from the title and original message that you were more serious about this.
Maybe it's not such an important priority in your life at this time.
Just my observation.

Good luck & I hope you get things worked out.

I'm serious about it but I can have some fun with the comments along the way. I mean after all, interpertation of things is individual, and I could of either taken some of the comments as insulting and rude, and reacted negativly to percieved comments,or I could reply with humor to things I percieved as rude and insulting.
