well, it's been unseasonably cold here in the Valley....it's about 50 degrees right now, and rainy......I'm numb from riding my scooter home from work......shoulda rode my bike, but noooooooo, I had to take the chance it wasn't going to rain.  The rim country is getting snow, which suits me just fine...and all the skiers too.....I see the weather heading east and just think "Better them than ME!"   Yeah...they don't call me the Evil One for nuttin' honey!

It's been snowing almost steadily around the Boise area since I first posted this poll & temperatures have warmed up some with the highs around 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

The commutes yesterday and this morning have been awful with slide offs and wrecks blocking the freeway... the snow has been compacting some because of a little rain and above freezing weather, but there's still around nine inches of accumulation at my house, with the drifts being much deeper (of course).

Warm and sunny here (or it will be once the sun comes up).  I bet I don't get any sympathy for the sunburn I got last Friday.  I refuse to live anywhere that I can't wear shorts and slippas every day!  Might go to the beach Christmas afternoon.

Okay now I am sick of this cold!  It is ruining everything!  First the frozen pipes we worked out... now everything is plugged up and I am wondering if the pipes going out can freeze up.  I am seriously in some shitty trouble here!  What the hell was I thinking I could get a few months down the line before any real trouble.  I didn't account for winter and slow payments! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Running water in a mobile home like everyone has told me for years is a very bad thing!  Had I flushed the sewer with full blast running water or a bathtub filled and released all at once, it wouldn't have frozen.  A trickle or just a lil bit freezes!  Now my sewer line is totally frozen from what they tell me and I am waiting for another guy to see how much it would cost to take apart and fix or for warmer whether and sunshine.  This could be a long haul camping trip here... only there aren't any bushes to hide my behind and I am sure 'some' of the neighbors wouldn't like that much. lol  You learn something every day... but I am sure I could find something more interesting to learn!

Hang in there Holly!  Once again... we have something in common! lol

The furnace did run last night for one full cycle...which raised the temp of the entire house more than 30 degrees!

However.... *sigh*
This morning it was back to it's usual non-functional self.

sounds like it might be the thermocouple angelikaJ.  ours went out a couple years ago and cub had it fixed in an hour.  they're pretty easy to do and not too expensive.  i hope it'll be fixed soon!

We're getting hammered here today (by local standards). It's a good thing I don't have to go anywhere! Last week's commute was horrible, for the most part, and people were delayed at airports all around the Pacific Northwest, including a friend of mine who was stuck in Portland for days. The freeway has been closed around the Utah line off and on all week too, and there are avalanche warning in the mountains just to the North of me here.

But the skiing is great, and the snow pack is helping alleviate our drought. There is a ski area just barely above Boise I need to head up to soon with my UM. Neither of us ski, but the tubing there is great fun. It makes me feel like I'm a kid myself again!

Here in the midwest, we've been having strange weather. A few weeks ago I woke up to a 65 degree morning. By the time I left work at 3:30 PM, it was below zero. Seems to be the cycle lately. Argh.

The river has finally frozen over where we are and it is warming up here.  It reached - 11 C here yesterday and it is -15 C right now.  Now that it is warming up, it will start snowing again.  We may take the munchkins sleding or snowboarding today.

Well I did it. I just purchased advance tickets for the "Gold Rush" tubing hill at the Bogus Basin ski resort (right above Boise) for the 6:00 - 8:00 session tonight.

Now I have to find or buy enough cold weather gear for windy 17 degree (Fahrenheit) weather, and decide whether or not I need to buy chains for the car in order to get up there...

That mountain's always a blast. Woo hoo!

Right now it's 60 degress and pouring rain. All the snow is melting & we're under a flash flood watch. They are calling for snow showers changing to snow later. The last time it was this warm & the temp dropped low enough to snow, we got 23". I hope that does not happen again.

That was pretty good. This thread made it to 96 posts before anyone mentioned "Global Warming".

Wow, I hear ya! Yesterday we were buried in snow and ice and today I have lakefront property. I'm making a "No Wake Zone" sign for the backyard. Watching carefully because another half inch and the water will be pouring in the basement windows.
